Not saying he isn't a decent player, he wont start as the initial poster posed the question. Obviously he has some talent but he has some work to do to make it in D1. jmho.

I agree, we have RS Freshmen who don't seem to be starting material at this point. Long did play at the second highest level in Ohio high school football so he has played against good competition and he has some nice college offers. Only a few true freshmen ever start at the college level at the QB position.

We had Morris from Washington on campus today. He backs up Penix, but started 15 games in the two years before he got there.  He?s thrown for about 3,700 yards and 20 TDs in his career. He has one year left.

On Wednesday, Morris took a recruiting visit to the Sun Belt team in Huntington, West Virginia, according to 247sports, while he remains a part of a UW football team that was practicing on the same day for its Sugar Bowl meeting with Texas on Jan. 1.
While in the portal, Morris has agreed to stay with the UW football team through the College Football Playoffs and provide an experienced quarterback should Penix get hurt.

Yeah, I watched the UAlbany at Idaho 1-AA quarterfinal last weekend in which UAlbany won. UAlbany visits South Dakota State -20.5 at 7 PM Friday. Also, North Dakota State visits Montana at 4:30 PM Saturday. Should be some good games. I like Poffenbarger!

I don't think he would.  He took all of his buds from ODU and brought them to Albany.  He created his own team there.  They are going to be a force to be reckoned with this next year.  We were lucky to beat them last year, especially given what we know, now, about them.   We would have to basically bring over their whole offense and I don't see any reason why they would want to do that.  Not like we can pay for it.
