It would have been a crying shame to lose that game with as many turnovers we forced.  That had to be a record.  I only saw this team play in person at Morehead State.  They are light years better now!

I couldn't watch the end till after.  What a game.  I felt like I was gonna jinx it if I didn't turn it off.  Said a prayer.  That was a war.  We only had 32 at half.  Finished with 95.  That's crazy even with OT.

Going to be hard for teams to prepare for us it looks like with one and done. We will see taller and better competition for sure and believe Coach will have us ready.

Take a look at the stats in the below link. We shot 30.3% FG and 17.4% (8-46) 3PT  while JMU was 50.9% and 45.5%. JMU had 39 TO and Marshall had 12. Grit and defense won the game.

Add to fact that we shot 99 times to their 52. Also 32 of our 49 rebounds were on the offensive end. Quite a feat against a much bigger JMU team.

As someone mentioned on the JMU board, we didn't get a lot of defensive rebounds because they either turned it over or made the shot if they hung onto it.

Anybody else get a little "extra" satisfaction from this W because the other team was wearing "Purple"?  For old hands like me, it brings back memories of another purple wearing bunch with smug and big egos, and LOTS of arrogance, namely the Purple Paladins of Furman!!  See a lot of the same in that bunch from Harrisonburg.  But today, after overtime, those Purple clad "DUKES" were just left a bunch of whipped "SERFS" in the dust alongside of the road, by a HERD of Kelly Green CHAMPIONS!!!!

It's not that remarkable after watching the game.
Our ladies didn't just miss, most of the missed shots were absolute bricks that came off at odd angles allowing our players' superior quickness to track down the ball.

Coach said she was giving them a couple of days off.  If there's any justice in this world Dan and his scholarship/welfare recipients are already headed back on a bus and the women will be coming home chartered plane.
