  • I think now we go after the best 10 players available.   Try getting him.  If that means a current starter goes to the bench so be it.  Recruit this final spot like you have 0 players and access to the best out there.

Agree. Try and recruit a kid that will take someone's starting spot.

  • Corny has totally transformed this team into a much quicker and athletic team than Danny ever had. These guys all have the athleticism and quickness to play defense. I expect a much bigger emphasis on defense and discipline. I would guess Jalen Speer, Mingo, Dawson, Obinna and Martin will start. Gibbs brothers, fricks, Moore and the next signee will get most minutes. Maybe Nutter also.

  • Mingo has a long wingspan. He also can break a defender down and hit a mid-range jumper. I didn't see much defense on his tapes, but hopefully he can defend.

I hope we can land one more quality player that can be productive as a starter or in a rotation. Having more talent will help Martin and OAK a lot.

Corny has upgraded the roster tremendously. We have guys that can play in the starting lineup or as players in a rotation. No more dead weight lounging on the bench that we have had the past three years. That to me in itself is encouraging. We are using scholarship money for ballers and some guys with an edge.

  • Looks like a really good player.

He seems very similar to CJ Burks, and we have needed that scoring number from the 2 spot since he graduated.

  • Someone I work with saw him at the rec center at the beginning of the week. They were playing pickup and Elmore was there also. He said this guy was really putting the D on Jon. Jon had a hard time driving on him.

And may actually get some coaching on game day. Corny said he wanted to tighten up the defense and get in peoples grill. Also said he would keep the same offense but also run some more set plays. Instead of just running your system in practice and the on game day folding your arms and saying just go play and I'll watch. We may see more coaching and a more disciplined team.

I wish nothing but the best for Corny.  You know he has an amazing opportunity that most of us only dream of and I truly believe he?ll embrace.

  • just saw-  feeling a little better!  guy has good numbers across the sheet- may be just what we needed.  and might make the team look better to entice a quality player to come fill the last spot

  • This recruiting class and Corny?s assertion that we are going to start playing defense has me excited for Herd hoops again. Cannot say I have really felt that way since Elmore left.
