Sure would be nice to be in the conversation, but I guess 20 years of mediocrity puts us where we are.

It takes more than just winning to be a part of the conversation. 

Of the schools mentioned, nearly every school is more than twice the size of Marshall.  The smallest school, Boise State, has 8,629 more students enrolled than Marshall (1.76 times the size of Marshall).

Has the PAC situation been worked out yet? Even if it were to loot the MWC, I don't see it suddenly becoming a power conference again. Same thing with the ACC. If Clemson, Florida State, and everyone with a pulse jumps ship and is replaced by South Florida, Memphis, and Tulane, I can't imagine it would remain one either.

There are only going to be 2 power conferences within 2 years and maybe sooner.  I am guessing between 48 teams and 64 involved.

The way I look at it smaller the pond, the bigger the fish, we are.  Maybe we can start winning national championships again.

Even WVU nearly got stranded in the AAC and had to beg to get into a P5 conference.  No market and no recruiting hotbed here
