A sad day.
Tom was a good friend and a huge Herd Fan.

A big loss to the community and Herd sports backer.  As many of the younger ones like Muther has stated TRS was a good educator. Last time I saw him and his wife was at Outbacks several years ago a couple of evenings before a Herd home fball game. Enjoyed his stories about his radio days as a student announcer on WMUL and his time in the military after college.
Condolences to his family and friends. Prayers to help them thru this time.

Had Mr. Rone (Rone Ranger) for 10th grade science at Midland.

Great person to talk to especially about Marshall sports.

Easily one of my favorite teachers (him and Mr. Ward) and sad to hear of his passing.

RIP. I never met or knew him personally but always enjoyed his comments and stories.  It's odd, after all these years as a herd fan I recall reading his posts dating back to late 90s and on the herd grapevine. The fact that he was a class act was evidenced in his words. RIP

Putting two and two together I think I know who this was and if so it breaks my heart. One of my favorite teachers I ever had. Saw him a couple years ago and got to tell him. He was the best.

I did not know TRS but appreciated his comments and enthusiasm for Marshall.  He will be missed.  Prayers for his family and loved ones.

IIRC the last time I saw Tom was at our 2nd game Strat-o-matic pro football tournament, a double round robin with TG from HN and another former member of the Boy Scouts. I could have tied for first with a win lost to his lowly at-the-time Atlanta Falcons and I finished 4-4 with the best team by far, the '67 KC Chiefs.

I always enjoyed reading his posts as well.  Although I didn't know him personally, he was obviously known and loved by many on this board.  To you guys, you have my sincere condolences on losing a close friend.
