  • Bob was a Huntington boy. I believe he grew up in the west end of Huntington in the Central City area, not sure.
     

    Here is his obit link form his days at South Carolina, it is a nice piece about Bob. Bob got South Carolina into the Metro Conference before it left for the SEC.

    I think you are right FT2. Years ago when he was the AD at Kansas a Huntington area bookie that was in high school at the same time said he got nicknamed kayo after a newspaper cartoon because when he was a baby he slept in a dresser shelf--just like the cartoon character.
