Around the mid-60s or so, MU got a decent number of students, several of whom I knew, from Northern VA., Alexandria, Arlington, etc. That area has only exploded, population wise and geographically, expanded outward, ever since. Of course, at that time George Mason U. began as a former one building branch of UVA, IIRC. Now GMU is one of the, or the, largest Universities, enrollment wise, in the Old Dominion. There is also another source of potential students in the area through the large Community College. NOVA, in the region. Hopefully, MU doubles down on its student recruitment efforts throughout the entire DC Metro area!!! Can't get em if you don't try!!!
