App down 16-0 vs ECU, early.  App cannot defend a long pass.  We need to take note and game for some longer passes with our receiver corps.  We have speed and length at receiver.  Just need hands and a few seconds to get the ball to them, whoever is throwing it.

Cranked might be a bit dramatic.  16-11 going into half is not good, and that's if ECU doesn't score again.  But the point is they are very vulnerable if we plan well and execute.  Most considered this a sure loss at homecoming, preseason.

Appy is leading ECU at the end of the 3rd quarter 21-16. VA Tech is leading at ODU 14-0 at the half. VA Tech has 171 yards offense and ODU has 9 yards. I guess there is a SBC team that has a worst offense than Marshall.

According to the link you provided, at halftime ODU has 199 Total Yards.  I do not see where you got 9 yards.

We had only 278 Total Yards for the entire game vs VT.

Sorry, but the link didn't have the total yards for the half, it since has updated. One play for a TD run by ODU accounted for 65 of those yards. Another play by ODU accounted for another 48 yards. I am not impressed with either team.

Apparently they can't defend anything and their dline gets pushed around for run or pass.  We should do one or the other till it quits working then switch.

48-14.  And USA lost to UNT and freakin Ohio.  Apparently returning everyone from the previous year's team isn't an answer either.  App had the most back of anyone in conference, including a good?? QB.

App played poorly and was just unlucky.  Dropped passes, missed tackles, unfortunate penalties, turnovers, etc.  Sloppy play that is uncharacteristic.  If Clark is any kind of coach he will get some of the slop cleaned up.  There were a few questionable penalties that went USAs way that were drive savers. 

USA has a good OL and DL.  The OL was able to push the App DL all over the field.

App will get better but watching them the last two games, they aren't the world beater many thought they would be. USA had a great QB, wish we had him. That said, if we can develop a solid offense, no reason we can't compete for a division title. I just don't have faith in this staff or our QB's. jmho.

You are 100% correct.  Nearly everyone picked App State to win the conference.  One game into conference play and App State is behind.  Their ego has to be taking a hit.  App State was favored by 8.5.  App State gets a few extra days to prepare for Liberty before they come to Huntington.

Sun Belt East games to watch this weekend (and one big OOC game): 
JMU vs North Carolina (NC squeaked by Minnesota 19-17).  Spread NC by 10.5.
Coastal vs Virginia (winnable game for Coastal).  Virginia by 3.5.
Southern Miss vs Jackson State (only because underdog Coastal put a beat down on Jax State).  Jax State by 6.
ULM vs Texas #1.  Texas by 44.5.
Ga Southern vs Ole Miss #5.  Ole Miss by 35.
Ga State off week. 
Tulane vs Louisiana (big OOC matchup, Tulane is billed at one of the top AAC teams)  Tulane by 2.5.

Hope we make a better showing vs Ohio State than ULM or Ga Southern do against their ranked opponents.

They won't get better with Sean Clark as coach. He is still living off their past success. He reminds me of Doc. Win a couple games to keep the fanbase interested and then lose a bunch of real head scratchers. This year they are just a bad football team.

I mean they could still be dangerous.  Lost to UNC, Wyoming, and got a last second win over ULM, last year, but then tore through the conference after that including beating JMU at JMU when they were very good.  Like undefeated until game 11 good.  But we get them early and at home and we still have no idea what we have until next week.  Ohio State tells us nothing unless we somehow hang with them.
