I thought our problem was 90% the linebackers.  They could not adjust their angles for the aggressive speed of their backs.  They could not move laterally.  These were not world level cuts these players were making for OSU.  Just straight speed and basic on cut moves.  Our LBs were not good at all.  I feel we can compete for a conference title with the talent we have at most positions, but our DC will need to scheme around these LB limitations, and I am not sure he is good enough to do it.

Kelly ran at Yates about every play.  He goes after weak spots and is relentless with it.  Great college OC when he has the better talent.

Remember our DC is also the LB coach and was the LB coach at Georgia Tech before coming to Marshall.

You're making my brain hurt.  We needed to beat VT to have any shot at the playoffs.  "The dance" is reserved for the NCAA basketball tournament.  I suppose it's possible if we win out and EVERYONE else has 3 losses.  Our SoS would carry us in that case and only that case, but a 3 loss team with a good P4 win could jump us even then.  I mean what are we going to do in the playoffs anyway?  Play Ohio St again or Texas?  Access bowl would have been so much better for us because you're playing a team that ALSO didn't make the playoffs and is somewhat beatable.  We blew a lot years when it was easy to take it.

People forget that a tournament is seeded, unlike bowls.  They don't look for the best matches.  The put worst against best.  Zero chance of winning the game unlike access bowl.

You?re full of %^&*.  Even in 99 there were TONS of empty seats.  Same in 2003.  Same in 2014.

Moreover.  How many SEC teams go to 7 straight bowl games and have 1/4 of the seat empty?  How many ACC teams average 25,000 on a 7 year run of bowl games?  WV sucks, perennially.  Are they leaving 1:4 of the stadium empty for 90% of games?
