Topic: Volleyball totally non-competitiive against CCU this evening

CCU has won, now 14 straight SBC natches.  Yet, the DEMOLISHED Marshall 3 - nil.

Aganus has a lot of work to do to find ladies to compete at the level of good competition she is playing in OOC, and now in conference.  She needs considerably more height, speed, and spiking talent.

I've watched them a lot and they do very well against similar size teams, but have no answer to tall, thin, spikers. Their opponents are actually spiking the ball over the top of our defenders when totally extended, we are just that incomparably "shorter" than the really good teams.

I don't know if she can do it here at MU or not, but I'm rooting for them anyway. 

Also, I think we had 10 or 11 service errors tonight.

The hot seat is getting hotter.  Beating out of conference so-so teams is one thing, but getting thumped by SBC teams is not acceptable.

As they say, we may have to go in another direction for volleyball.

We don?t have it.  Not even close.  Kim Lambert at Univ of Delaware recruits well.  Maybe look for a good coach from that league.   Lambert coached here.  Not sure if she coached with Jacobs.  Or this is where a pitt assistant may actually be an upgrade.

Herd Volleyball got swept again by Coastal Carolina for the second day in a row.  Herd is 0 for 6 at Coastal.  The saga continues.

Georgia Southern came to the CAM and was an average team.  Herd got swept on the first day 3 straight games (sets).  The next day the Eagles swept the Herd again 3 in a row, losing 6 out of 6.

The Herd volleyball team is 0 for 4 in matches versus in conference opponents and 0 for 12 in games (sets). 
One doesn't have to look at the standings to know MU is at the bottom of the conference.

Where is Mitch when we need him.

The best player on the team has graduated (Brown) who was the glue to this team.

In looking at next year's recruits, the heights are 5'8", 5'11", 5'10", and 6'0".  Is the Herd playing in a 6' and under league?

Another so-so, lukewarm season with a very poor conference finish.

What this Athletic Administration should do is GO IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. 
Let this coach go and get one that can recruit the big players with talent and can put a winning Sunbelt conference team on the floor.

They are a long way from the Kelly-Anne Billingy & Mitch Jacobs teams.

zI've been to many supporter events where she was present, they (really Spears) make/made her sound like the second coming......

She's very loud, proud and demonstrtive. Whether that will ever turn into a winning Volley Ball coach is way above my pay grade.   Her words haven't turned into much so far, in fact, quite embarrassing losses at times in conference this year.

Loud, proud and demonstrative has not turned into successful winning seasons.

The coach can't recruit talented players.  All she goes after are setters and defensive specialists as well as outside hitters under 6' that are a dime a dozen which don't "get it" in the volleyball world.

She's had 3 or 4 seasons to develop her program and has not succeeded.
Don't know what line she's feeding to Spears but she's not producing but he's buying it.

If she stays next season, the schedule will have to be so watered down to make her record look respectable to make up for the losses that will come in conference play like it was this season.

Time for Spears to either fish or cut bait and make a move with the volleyball program or they can play their matches in
