Just curious how can you can be in the "know"? I don't think you are a major contributor or work at Marshall (that is probably the only way you could have access to information), correct me if you wrong.

Well I'm done with Marshall. I already have season tickets this year in basketball and will finish that out. And unless CJ becomes a tremendous recruiter for next year or we get a very exciting basketball hire I'm done with both sports. Marshall has been run so poorly for so long I don't think they could change at this point en if they wanted too. Never thought I would see the day I felt this way. But either way the portal, NIL and Marshall leaders for the last 20+ years I just don't have it anymore.

Herd fans, there's a lot going on that hasn't come out yet. All I can say right now is, it's not AD Spears or Marshall Prez Smith fault as to why all of this is happening now. I've been sworn to secrecy until after the bowl game. Don't believe everything you hear or read about Huff not being offered a contract extension.

E man has a lot of connections to Marshall and Huntington. He goes WAY back with this football program. I?m pretty sure he was even a water boy as a kid at one point for the young thundering herd (maybe have this confused with another poster.

Either way, he has tons of connections.

Well if he was a water boy 50 years ago clearly he has insight to the current situation

$775k was four years ago, for a young coach who wanted to be a head coach, who had a reputation as a recruiter and was a position coach for Nick Saban.

For Huff Marshall was an entry level Head Coaching job and we all knew that or at least suspected that from the beginning.  If we try to keep Huff, I'm sure the number will be in excess of 7 figures. The market today will demand north of 7 figures for anyone remotely qualified to fill the head coaching position at Marshall. If we opt to go with a coach who has had moderate success and prior head coaching experience the price will start in the ballpark of $1.5 and up. 

I equate this shopping experience to the sticker shock I experience when I go buy a similar make/model truck every 5-6 years. I'm getting essentially the same truck, just a newer model, but it costs me more money than I paid the last time I bought a truck. I justify it to myself by knowing that I get what I pay for. I think Marshall is in the same situation right now, but regardless, we have a game to win this week. Go Herd!

Makes no sense after a bowl game. If Huff is gone it will be after this weekend. He most likely not coach in a bowl.
