  • From all accounts he is a nice guy, but I?m over all these WVU pipeline coaches. We don?t need them.

  • Not a fan of this hire if true.  Feels too much like it could be Doc 2.0
I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. I don't want a football player who doesn't take defeat to heart, who laughs it off with the thought, 'Oh, well, there's another Saturday.' The trouble in American life today, in business as well as in sports, is that too many people are afraid of competition. The result is that in some circles people have come to sneer at success if it costs hard work and training and sacrifice.- Knute Rockne

  • It?s done from what I?ve heard, I almost hope it?s wrong but you can check the flight logs from Huntington to Raleigh.

Agreed. Would rather take the risk on an up and coming FCS HC than an older coordinator

  • I just received a phone call from someone who told me this was a done deal.

Hope the person is wrong, but I doubt it based on who it is.

  • Lee Moon was the last decent AD we have had.  Real deficit in managing athletics with bad hires and keeping bad hires way too long.  The programs would be in much better shape if they had been managed better the last 15+ years.

WVU has had two brushes with greatness in 50 years.  Just what exactly we see in their leaders I simply don't understand.  They had the ND game in '88? and the bowl Bill Stewart won which was the same year they lost to Pitt and foiled their national champ hopes, i believe? But I could be mixing my games up as I don't follow them.

  • E-Man says all will be revealed before too long. I?m willing to wait and see what?s truly happening. My issue is, if we do hire a new coach, please not Gibson. Like most, I?m so tired of Marshall?s lackluster hires, no real searches, etc. If Gibson is hired, fans can boycott from the get go. Home schedule for the next several years is going to be meh anyway. 😝

  • Gibson better have an exciting offense and win right out of the gate

This deal has been handled very poorly all the way around

Well sorry to disappoint you but it?s Gibson. Might as well accept it.

Oh, I can accept it. Don?t have to support it, though.

  • Over Charles Huff??

    Worst decision ever

    Over Eddie George??

    Worst decision ever

Over doing a true search instead of the AD patented target searches??

    Worst decision ever

Well, he will have a great opportunity to show what he can do on August 30, 2025.  A win against Georgia should buy him some credibility!

We shall see in time. I recall many questioning Huff's hiring since he had never been a HC or coordinator.  Ego's are huge at this level and spin is sometimes the game.

Expect Doege to go with Huff if he does get the S Miss job.
