Nutter played high school basketball surrounded by nearly a half dozen MAC schools and none them offered him a scholarship. I seem to remember he only had a couple of offers from NAIA schools. Another one of Dan's mistakes and there were many.

inconsistent shooting is a given and defense is suspect at times.
although we've got 6'8, 6"10 players, one of the biggest problems seems to be nobody is a leaper so finishing shots and shot blocking/altering shots is a problem.

How can a coach with a team that can't make uncontested 15 foot free throws think he can win trying 22 foot three pointers.  Dan doesn't understand this problem and apparently Corney doesn't either.

They are a bad shooting team, it is just plain and simple. Unlike some on here, I give Corny a pass. Next year when he has more NIL money and Fulford has a complete year to recruit is when I will judge.

What a horrendous free throw percentage for a D1 mid-major program? That is absolutely atrocious.

5-4 overall and 4-4 against D1 competition. Same as the usual path we have been on. Why expect anything to change?  I think my days of seeing ballers at Marshall is long over. After tonight at about 11PM, I would say that would be true of another sport.

We just don't beat good mid-majors any more. 2-4 in the conference tournaments the past four seasons. I don't see that percentage changing any time soon.

I guess it is time to go back to Dan's advice last year: "Be a Good Fan". Blame Huff.

In the post game Corny places our loss on the poor foul shooting I complained repeatedly about.  He says we practice them all the time, then concludes the solution to our foul shooting woes is to quit practicing them.  I'm sure he was trying to be funny, but that "ain't" funny.  If he wants to be judged and paid for his skill as a comedian, just look at his team.  He'll never come up with a bigger joke than what he is putting on the floor.

I noticed several players  not squaring their feet before shooting. Basic fundamentals like free throws.
