  • Is there any relationship between the Gibsons who helped bring Mark Snyder here and Tony Gibson?

  • Curious if WVU had any interest in Gibson for their open head coach position?

  • Your memory is very foggy. It was a love fest at the beginning.

I do remember a lot of excitement the first couple of years Mark Snyder was here. Everyone just kept saying just wait until he recruits all his own players, but by year three things turned south quick. Over half the defense was out with injury and although Bernie Morris was having by far his best year, he battled turf toe the whole season. We lost to an FCS team and only won three games and Snyder never recovered. In his defense when looking back at the Ssgarin SOS rankings, no Marshall coach overall ever faced the SOS that Mark Snyder did except for maybe Doc his first two seasons. Doc still managed a winning season the his second year against a SOS that Sagarin ranked higher than WVU's.

It's Gibson's team now though and we need to give him a chance.
