  • No offense, but I have heard this mantra of receiving wvu supporters or WV money coming to Marshall since the days when Marshall hired Eddie Barrett from wvu as the Marshall AD.

I am not holding my breath since it has never happened in the 50 plus years since we had Eddie as our AD. Plus the there isn't nearly the amount of money left in the coal business as it was years ago. Then consider out the lower population in WV.

  • I can remember all the excitement about Mark Snyder also and don't say it didn't exist. It was a match made in Heaven until the wheels came off of course. Fans talk themselves into believing new coach is best ever every single time.

  • A lot of money people have also put Mark Cline's rear end on a Marshall seat for about 13 years now. Keep that in mind.

I don?t remember very much excitement about Snyder or Huff.  I remember everyone complaining about a co d coordinator that wasn?t ready and a RB coach that had never ran one side of a football team.

Your memory is very foggy. It was a love fest at the beginning.

    There was excitement around Huff.
Snyder, about the first words out of his mouth were "defense and special teams"...I think that was a wet blanket.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

  • ParMar, Marshall Reynolds, Ike Morris or all three?
Marshall football has that much sitting on their bench.  But I doubt they know that

  • Do we have any other info?

    What his salary is?

How much he has for assistant coaches?

How much he has for NIL?
The right way is always the right way- Coach Huff

And MORE importantly, the Little General owner is better friends with WVU.

  • a new standard of playing in champ games every four, preferably three.  thanks for that Huff.  bye bye Huff.  Hello Gibson, come on in.  you've got 4 years.  better hire the best coordinators right up front.  if it was a football god i'd still say you've got 4 years, buddy!

  • Like I?ve been saying for over a week, a large donor organization wanted a ?brand? to invest in. That brand was RR or TG. Both have a strong WV brand. When you shake out the diff between them, TG is the better hire. This is his dream job. Let?s get behind him, let?s support the businesses and ppl who got him here, and enjoy this ride. We have us a coach that bleeds green and white. I believe he will be a halll of fame coach for our Herd.
Hopefully he sticks with his dream job longer than Caldwell did.  I kid, hopefully he has the same results as well. Welcome to the HERD coach.

Welcome to planet earth. By the way, money dictated who we got last time too, and the time before that. When it's time for Gibson to move on, money will decide that as well.

  • There are a lot of really good MU guys in / on the staff of Huff right now. I sure hope they get a chance to stay, they've made a huge difference, and could be great transition and developmentatl support to the new coach.  You know who they are, no need to name them all.
