I feel our strength of schedule, OOC-wise, for the next couple of years will hinder us for potentially being considered for the playoff. The individual big $$$ games are good (Georgia and Penn State). However, Eastern Michigan, Missouri State, Middle Tennessee State won't raise any eyebrows.
Nah, we only need a better than average game vs the one money team and win the rest. The formula is set in stone and our conference is strong enough to provide it's own power if we win it. Ohio St played 3 MAC teams, including us as one of them, and the Big Ten schedule. No one would have dinged us if we'd played them well as our only loss. Army has 1 loss to Notre Dame, deserve to be in playoffs but for Boise having 1 better loss against better team they would be. If we have one loss to Georgia in a reasonable game that will satisfy their "did they play anyone?" criteria.
The real question is do we have to accept the PAC as a G5 eligible for our slot? Who says? and why? Make the P4 donate one of their slots to them as an auto qualifier. We gave them their 5-7 format instead of 6 and 6 at-large. They should be the ones to give next.
