  • Getting tired and overwhelmed is not quitting. Excuse me if I reject your characterization that they quit.

Were you there to watch the games? I was.

Some games you could tell in the warmups that they were not going to play and they were going to rollover. Some players left during the season since it  was so hard to play. They were outmatch from the start in nearly every game. Xavier even drop their football program a few years after their lost.

  • The point was they didn?t quit. It didn?t matter how bad they got beat. They fought and didn?t quit.

  • It?s a shame players never got say about their championship level coach before he was let go.  Admin will never know/understand the locker room where what?s going on matters the most.

And did they cancel the games when some of the players quit? All you?re doing is proving my point. And for the record I was 8 during that season so I don?t remember all the details like you. I went to a lot of games with the Boys Club. All I remember is that it didn?t matter how much they lost I wanted to be like them. They were my heroes.

  • What a pile of dukie Huffy has left on the 20th St. curb.  After the mess he has created. his ass will will be black listed from ever getting a P-4 job now!

Don't even try to blame this fiasco on Huff. Look at the administration. They wanted to fire Huff last year, but didn't have the balls to do it. Now crap is rolling down hill and everybody want to blame a coach without a contract extension. The Championship put a crimp in their plans and they didn't have a Plan B. Now Marshall's reputation his negatively altered, and it will have recruiting fallout.

    Thank you for your insight.

I am deeply saddened. I thought playing for Marshall meant something. It seems as if the idea behind playing for the 75 is over.

Quitting is not what made Marshall. Yet here we are. All because we had a coaching staff with one foot out the door. An administration incapable of negotiation. And college players in 2024 only looking for that next big paycheck.

It's all hitting like a brick wall right now.
