  • Again, this is not the administrations fault. They tried to work with Huff for the past 3 years. I think Huff got pissed that the let him go after the last game. Go back and watch Huff last press conference, he was pleading indirectly for the AD and Prez to change their minds and sign him to a new contract.
And yet he announced at his introduction to USM that he had planned to be there a week earlier but then he ended up being busy on Saturday. So, he was already committed before that press conference.

  • The obvious problem with that is that the national title game is now in the back half of January and most schools start their spring semesters well before that.
Agree, but there needs to be serious change. They need to figure it out, because this "system" is broken.

  • what an extremely odd and perhaps multi-record-breaking football season.
don't really care one bit for any bowl game not part of the playoffs as they are really meaningless in the portal/NIL era.
i only care about how it will specifically affect the program from spring 2025 onward, but again, i think that overall, some fans are overreacting and have no specific proof of negative affect.  maybe we could have had a net gain financially, but really how much?
i don't care about anybody who won't be on or associated with this football team come late August 2025.

  • Sad state of affairs. I don?t really care about the game but it is somewhat embarrassing. Hopefully this gives Gibby the chance to load up from the portal.

It's not our embarrassment.  This is on the system that could allow that to happen.

  • From what I heard, we had 41 available players and only 3 offensive linemen.

Don't think opting out of the bowl was the wrong call if that was the case. Would have been an absolute sham game if we did show up. Most respectful thing to do for Army is to announce it now so they can find a replacement if possible.

As for Huff, if even a fraction about what we're hearing about him is true, WVU will only be my 2nd most hated team for as long as USM employs him.

so why do these guys HAVE to be able to play the 1st semester with 1 school & practice 2nd semester with another?

they can wait until fall practice to meet their new employer just like the HS kids always did.

for the sake of embarrassing this whole mess (portal during bowls), i hope they can't get another team to replace us.

what a joke that would be for CFB.  of ALL the unranked, mediocre teams that get to play in a bowl b/c there's way too many, 1 of the top 25 schools doesn't get to play.  i hate it for Army, but ...

  • Under the circumstances I'm ok with this decision not to play the bowl game.

Move on and hope changes will be made with the portal entry time.

Looking forward to next year without all the behind the scenes crap.

Not only that, but crappy teams win bowls because they're the only teams that are still intact during bowl season.  Their coach isn't going anywhere, their players aren't going anywhere.  Happened to Sun Belt last year when we lost 7 our of 12 bowl games because our rosters were decimated and teams, like JMU, had no coach and all their guys left with Cignetti.

We should all choose to sit out all bowls until they fix the system.  One season of all the bowls losing their a$$ ought to do it.

  • Ok with players getting some money but there needs to be an agreement with the players that they have to sit out if they transfer.

  • I'm disappointed in the decision and that it will completely overshadow the 10 win, SBC Championship season.

Looking forward to April and the spring game to see what we have.

What if MU wouldn?t have let the young thundering herd play for safety concerns ??
We still have more than enough players to play
What about the valuable practice and playing time that could have been gained ?

This is about fear of losing badly , not fear of player safety

We are in a heck of a predicament. How do we play a 4th String QB who likely hasn't taken one practice snap all season. So a guy that hasn't even practiced is going to lead the team in a bowl game? How do we even call a play? It is a train wreck waiting to happen. Probably worse than Florida State. What a mess.

  • Smith or Spears should come on the Ohio-MU basketball broadcast at halftime and give a very clear message of what is going on and why this has transpired.
