Topic: How will the decommit affect recruiting

On one side I can see coaches able to say the recruit has much better chance of playing or starting due to the greatly reduced number of players on the team.  On the other hand I can see coaches from other schools warning Marshall is a decimated dumpster fire where a recruits talent will be wasted.

There is a need to reset the reasons to choose Marshall right now. Whether or not we can get kids to come to MU from a desire to be a Marshall student and player is very difficult to forecast; way too many choices.  I really wonder if Gibson has entered a dumpster fire that will require a period of emmense heat for the program, sure hope I'm wrong.  He doesn't deserve that.

BUT remember, we brought in around 40 players from the portal ourselves last year, and they won a championship.

Sometimes being handed a clean slate is better than one with writing already on it; go at it Coach Gibson.

If you read the link below it gives a breakdown of the new players as of 2/7/2023. We did sign Stone Earl and bring him in June/July and a few other portal players late in the summer.

Thanks, I think the number was 25, plus about 15 from high school.
