We need to fire Spears for incompetency and Hire Mo. State AD.

Why?

Look at their 1st four games in the inaugural season of all things.

08/30 - at USC (So.Cal)
09/06 - at Marshall
09/13 - SMU (ACC playoff team at home)
09/20 - UT Martin

Wins would have been his deliverable, wins gained within the rules and creating a positive image for the university. I think his success was actually a part of his downfall. He knows his role is to win, and he did it. What he and the admin share in, or ourtside, a love-fest should be of no importance. Smith and Spears, unless he was doing something illegal, or demaining the university, should have taken his devliverable and ran with it. Only person in athletics match anything near what Huff did in delivering his goal is Chris Grassie. Odd that he is loved for it; and Huff never was (within the organization).

Further, if Huff's "how" was as bad as people are striving to make it out to have been (now....), he should have been fired. I can't imagine a division or vertical leader in a major corporation having survived this debacle, yet Spears is dancing forward.

The Huff videos exposed a lot of the undercurrents to this story and I look for Huff to land at Mississippi State in the near future?why?his wife has major ties and Southern Miss is just another stepping stone to their goals for their futures! Let?s say it has everything to do with Black culture and that it is now predominate in sports. Just look at the percentages in all sports? Whites went for the intellectual side of education to make more money and less physically demanding. Very few whites in the Pros these days! $$$$$$$ has destroyed the games we all learned to play growing up that brought us together as friends and teammates! Huff and family beat the system and will continue even at Southern Miss where they will continue to receive more money than the average family?s in Mississippi just as they have from their time at Marshall. We got what we paid for in the end a Championship. The real question remains to be seen is will Tony Gibson improve our position upwardly toward our making it into the Playoffs like Boise State did this year? Also renewing the Coalbowl game now that Rich Rod is WVU head Coach again?

So Miss managed to get buyout in contract. As it stands, the geniuses at MU figured out a way to let 10 win championship coach walk with zero compensation. That's a trick today

They were asleep in bed while Huff surprised them with a championship run. Hard to be creative and know your coach is good when in bed asleep. They doubted him now fans have to watch a program mess and collapse.

Some of them really hurt too; Lockette, Semore, Ashfold.

Everyone blames Huff, but ton's of coaches followed him. Including 1st year coaches like Semore and Ashford.

The coaches going with the head coach is one thing, the true test will be how many players follow him to So Miss. Last count I saw was 1 back up player who left Marshall for So Miss.
The Huff era at Marshall is over and the Gibson era is underway. There's no need to look back, everything we want is in front of us.

Means nothing their choices were go w Huff and have a job. Stay back in Huntington and have Gibson fire you as he?ll bring in his own

Time to stop bashing the administration over the situation with Fluff. He didn?t want to be here and they let him walked after he failed to live up to agreements in place. He is a trash person that would have been fired from a company after year one the way he acted and the contract would have been voided for cause.
This whole situation has been talked about way too much and if we kept Fluff the damage he would have caused would have been worse. Glad he is gone, but for me it?s 2 years to late.

We offered him extensions and Fluff turned them down. He also didn?t want a buy out in the contract to make him appear to be more desirable for job offers since the new school would not have to pay any money to Marshall. Fluff used us as a stepping stone and talked %^&* as he left town. This does not fall on our administration. They made a decision to cut ties from an employee who did everything he could to get a new job and then come begging for a new contract when the new job was about to fall through. Fluff was a cancer to the school and sadly will be remembered for winning a championship.
