regarding coach Gibson's new staff?

Crickets.....wonder why no announcements?  Who is out recruiting for us besides Gibson and Street?  So many coaching changes and staffs being built from teams in bowl games but no news from the Shewey building.  We've gotten like 3 or 4 commits and zero coaching news.  Very weird.

He said in his intro presser that all positions had been filled but one.  They probably are still coaching their teams in bowl games, unlike someone else we know.

Only mention of coaches on the Herdzone "More+" page under "Football" is the announcement and article on the hiring of Huff 4 years ago.

The Herdzone directory does have Gibson listed under all the Huff coaches still listed for their positions.

That site is such a joke & has been for years.  other than to check a schedule, I'd do a Google search for information before I'd go to HerdZone.

Johnathan Galante, Telly Lockette, Josh Miller, and Sharrod Everette.  So we know the list who will not be here.

I don't think Cody Crill has been announced as staying, but he is showing up all over the place with our OL recruiting, so I think it is likely he is here.  Great to keep Street and Crill.

I think Marshall, and the state for that matter, have a long background check process. I think I remember one of the Coaches mentioning it. (Doc maybe). Even though they have agreed to Gibson's offer, it can't be announced until the employer (Marshall) does all the behind the scene things

TG could also be waiting until he fills the final position &/or all future assts are done with their bowl games & free to leave their current program...before announcing his entire staff on 1 press release.  just a guess?

Only Lockette would be a loss from my perspective. Everette has been trashing our program since Huff left. So, USM got 5 Coaches and only 2 players to commit - so far. Not exactly the big haul they thought was coming. LOL!

would you, if you were a coach, want to accept a new job before your current job is over ? meaning that the assistants will probably come from programs that are still active in the post season ! Patience people ..... PATIENCE !

Quint Cottingham is the new GM.
Ralph Street remaining as we all know.

I believe a defensive quality control coach from NC State is coming to coach the LBers.
I have heard that Shannon Morrison will coach safeties.

On the offensive side of the ball I have read the rumors here about Quinns Sanders, which I doubt happens at this point as U of Charleston would have announced a new coach by now.
Have also read the rumor about Garin Justice.
Have heard the names Gunter Brewer and Rod Smith mentioned. Brewer would be realistic but I would think Smith would follow Rodriguez to wvu.

Agree that Sanders was likely just a rumor.  Recent committments to UC reference him and he reposted several.  No bowl for them so there would be no reason to not announce if he was the hire for OC.

Telle Lockette and Aaron Dobson really hurt imo.

Dobson leaving with Huff and foregoing loyalties burns me more than any player leaving for SM or elsewhere.  i don't get it IF there was a chance he'd be hired by Gibson. 
whether it really matters or not for the WR position, i don't honestly know even though we were a bit better overall- how much of that (credit) goes to Doege, though?

i don't want any staff who might have bad-mouthed MU.  once that bridge is burnt, FO!

Telle Lockette and Aaron Dobson really hurt imo.

Lockette really hurt Marshall. He was the coach who encouraged every player in the team meeting the day after the championship game to enter the transfer portal. 
Both are good coaches, but not loyal to Marshall.

There are some big names on that list.  That would be a good start to a coaching staff.

I don?t know why you don?t announce your hires.  The reason I say this is we should have coaches on the road recruiting as well as coaches on social media interacting with potential players.

This is a total guess, but thinking back about when Huff hired new coaches we always had a big time lapse before the coaches hired and announced.  I remember Huff saying he couldn?t comment until background checks were complete and contracts were finalized.
