It seems like size is a major consideration for draft position, in light of those Vermont players going early. And I would?ve thought Okiyoshi would be a higher prospect than Vukovic.
I have read elsewhere that the average MLS player annual salary is around $500,000 now. Surely that is somewhat skewed by top earners like Messi, but still, these guys have a great opportunity for a very lucrative career eventually, way more than say our football players who go to the CFL or arena league or something.
Thats why I think the U.S. college soccer to MLS pipeline will continue to be a major draw for international academy products who werent quite good enough for the leagues in their home countries.
