  • The entire OL left.  The entire OL gone.  Defense gone but Slappy.   Major miscalculation by MU admin.  Maybe the worst decision in Herd history not to work to keep Huff.  MU about to find out what the portal can do badly.

Disagree with that. Personally Im glad Huff is gone and many others are as well. This is just the norm of college football right now with a lot of turnover. Better get used to it. Its not going away anytime soon.

  • I mentioned Slappy .... 1/5.  That?s never good for a QB unless Huff is hitting the portal for you.  S. Miss wins more games than MU next year.  Attendance bottoms out.  Mark it down.

They followed Huff. If huff was here so would they. They want to play for him. S Miss isn't paying anymore than us. We offered Braxton 180k plus vehicle and living accommodations. Mcdriss is right about Marshall making a huge mistake because of pride. Next year could have been a huge year. Coming off a huge bowl win against Army and most likely a second SB title. Our administration screwed the pooch!!!!

  • This is sad, comical and embarrassing.  So many emotions.  We have nobody to tackle him or stop his arm.  These players loved Huff.  Listening to him and his videos I understand why.  And he is a Championship coach.

  • Time to be realistic.  Southern Miss with mostly Marshall players hit a year older are going to win the conference.  I am not a doomsayer but MU is staring 4-8 type season.

We lost most of our entire starting lineup.  All of our production on offense is gone, our line is gone, our defense is gone although they were not special.

Smith and Spears blew this one.  Could have had a special team next year and would have ended up ranked this year.

  • The best replacement for Huff was Eddie George.  He is known and commands instant respect.  That was the answer to buffer all this.

Huff left. He didn't want to be here. He was going somewhere obviously first chance he got. And, up until the 2nd half of James Madison the majority of people here now crying over him leaving wanted him gone at halftime of that game.

Major miscalculation??? Worst decision in Herd history?

With the logic being used here, those would actually be letting Billy Donovan go, letting Dana Altman go, or letting Kim Caldwell go. Obviously stupid moves by Marshall.

You should change your name to MicHuff as he?s all you have referenced for 2 weeks.   I?m glad he?s gone.  We have survived much worse.  Can?t wait to get our 5 star transfer qb and kick Braylon and huffs (@/:; next year.

Not happening I wish it would.  If can?t help it.  I can?t get over this miscalculated and atrocious decision.  Idc Huff long stayed here but you don?t let him go in conference for less $.  I don?t need / expect MU coach lifers when they win.  MU Admin home from looking for soccer tailgate yet??

Huff wanted to stay. Even said so but our great leaders was going to show him by putting up a wall and hiring Gibby. Now S&S is going to have to live with that miscalculation.

Would have to learn new system now I?d guess .... HC needs a fit now for it bc I doubt he designs the offense to his QB.  First timer .... and not many colleges do that anyways.  Can design an offense off the QB unfortunately.  It?s not the NFL and pro coaches.

  • The reality is Huff is a very middle of the road coach.  He made two good hires last yeat in Doege and then Crill. Our offensive line was marginal to poor outside of the Morrisey and Crill periods.  Until Doege we ran an unimaginative RPO offense.  The early success in his tenure was Guidry on defense.

There was never a point where Huff was going to be here so it is a case of when to pull off the bandage.  Poor character will always catch a person and I would rather they crash and burn elsewhere.
    .
I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. I don't want a football player who doesn't take defeat to heart, who laughs it off with the thought, 'Oh, well, there's another Saturday.' The trouble in American life today, in business as well as in sports, is that too many people are afraid of competition. The result is that in some circles people have come to sneer at success if it costs hard work and training and sacrifice.- Knute Rockne
