Curious whether any other folks think that a few folks bombing the board with negative comments are trolls for the former Coaching staff?  If they aren't coordinated and intentional trolls, they are still doing a good job of bleeding negativity all over this Board just as well as paid trolls...

There is another Marshall message board I generally avoid that these posters would fit in really well with..

Part of Herd Faithful .... but I am out .... the MU hiring scheme is atrocious ..... when TG retires the next wv coaching hotbed is in Frankfort, Wv.  Herd beats Huntington HS in the battle of wv boys in OT.  Embarrassing is canceling a bowl game and going from first to not close to first a year later bc many of your best players transferred to a conference rival G5.

Grassie obviously doesn't need any additional NIL.  He's doing just fine.  We just won a Championship in football.  Coach left.  We have a new coach.  Most every college team has a bunch of players to replace.  your bitching will not help.

Saw the Ohio-Jax bowl today.  Said Jax had 17 players enter portal.  16 of them stayed and played in the bowl before leaving.  I guess dickrod didn't tell his players not to play the game, that being the main difference between us and other teams that lost their coach, that people can't seem to grasp.  They were down 27-7 to Ohio and came back to only lose by 3, 30-27.   That's what you get when you're coach isn't a vindictive SoB that moved down instead of up.  And that's the difference between us and all those other schools that lost their coach.  They all got promoted and ours got demoted.  The other ones that were fired didn't make a bowl.

So the players are mindless zombies that can't make their own decisions? Who cares what he said. Do you do everything someone tells you? If a boss on the way out told you to quit would you just say ok and do it? These players have their own brains and are responsible for their own decisions. If masses of them are leaving...they feel they have a reason to.

Now, when you let a coach go to conference mate for similar money and said conference mate has weak roster you have to see this coming. Did our administration not?

How any Marshall fan can be a beacon of positivity and not ashamed, embarrassed, disgusted, and nearly over it...during one of (and likely) THE biggest botches and fumbles of multiple situations in a 3 weeks span in Marshall Athletics history is beyond me. Spears will go down as the worst AD in our lifetime.

After growing up on campus, befriending numerous Marshall players as a kid, hanging out in their dorms, living in the Cam Henderson Center (walking the halls daily for years), having season tickets, and scheduling my life around Marshall sports while being a hard core fan for 40 years I would say I'm officially done, no longer a fan, and am just posting the last few times to vent.

I feel bad for all of us. I know there's another few thousand just like me who can't take it anymore. Following this poorly run program, run by imbeciles, has been such a massive waste of time and energy.

Rich rod also has something like 27 senior Jax at players on his 2 deep this year.

This board is polluted with negativity, big egos and hurt feelings about old arguments.  i venture they maybe 10-20% of the posts are positive in general. 

Right now there?s been some controversy and major changes have happened, so I get it?s chaotic and there are a wide variety of thoughts about what has happened. 

However we won a championship in football and almost won a national championship in soccer and it didn?t change the negativity.

Like I said on another board, I truly hope some people?s lives get better and they overcome whatever is making them miserable.

i was thinking this exact same thing last nite.  honestly, used to be 1 of my fav posters.  then the Eddie George broken record.  & now the broken heart over huff.  posts are unreadable at this point.

what i find comical (or extremely obnoxious) are the bold predictions and the matter-of-fact statements about all things Marshall sports and beyond.  we've seen the success rate on most of those bold predictions and the hilarious outcomes!

I still can't get the idea that one person on here can judge the happiness of another by whether or not they agree on the circumstances facing this university right now. How does anyone claim the right to be right, and to judge others wrong without facts.  If you have actual facts, post them; convince others that their view is inaccurate due to facts; not your own opinion. This "holier than thou" shix is getting old.  If any of us knew "in fact", we'd state it.  But we apparently don't. So why bitch, moan, and ostracize others for them being upset and challenged by all this.

Time will calm souls, just maybe let it be.

My best take is this. I luv Marshall. Nothing will ever change that and I will root a million times harder for a coach that truly cares about our beloved university than himself. Because fact is NO ONE COACH OR PERSON is bigger than what this university stands for. I have been a Herd Fan for over 50 years and I never remember a coach being this divisive and trying to pit fans against the program and trying to destroy Marshall loyalty. Just my opinion. It is heartbreaking. But, it is time to move forward, and WE WILL.
