  • I worked at a local facility that employed in-house maintenance and also used outside contractors. Today?s college athletics are now like contractors passing through for a short period and are then off to the next job location. There is little allegiance to the college they attend since it is only temporary. Rare in this new world of college sports are those like local players Owen Porter and Logan Osborn. I suppose it?s either time to enjoy those few true Sons of Marshall mixed with Gypsies passing through or just give up college sports altogether. Can?t be forever being upset. Go Herd

  • I'm a fan on Marshall. I've lost interest in the rest. I watch the Herd and that's it.

  • Today I heard a discussion on Ohio State's tradition of a Senior huddle.  Traditions like this are started to develop appreciation for the program and encourage younger players to stay. Granted the have a ton of player money, but even with that they are recognizing you had better figure out ways to connect players to the school.
I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. I don't want a football player who doesn't take defeat to heart, who laughs it off with the thought, 'Oh, well, there's another Saturday.' The trouble in American life today, in business as well as in sports, is that too many people are afraid of competition. The result is that in some circles people have come to sneer at success if it costs hard work and training and sacrifice.- Knute Rockne

That's it.  Disappointing what college football is becoming.

Same thing goes for coaches and coaching staffs...  I'm a fan of Marshall.

  • Now that we have Nil, we have to structure the payout so that it?s back loaded, such that leaving early causes you to miss money.

Arizona had a system where a donor basically put aside the same amount as their football and Basketball Coaches salary and if they left early they got nothing but if the stayed he lump sum paid them.

So basically if you?re a starter, we could pay $25,000 and put 25,000 in escrow and if you graduate you get 100k if you leave you get nothing.

  • If something bothers me that bad, I just turn it off and quit watching it.
    Why torture yourselves?
Nothing said here or anywhere else is gonna make it better.

It is today?s product. Either buy it or pass. Simple.

Same thing happened with nfl. People complain about the league but still watch it.
    smh

    IT'S TAILGATING SEASON!
