Better than jacking up threes with our percentage for the season in the 20% range. Get some of their bigs out of the game with fouls. It opens up the lane for dribble drive and post moves with their bigs out.

Terrible basketball IQ all around today.....even if we win, it has been bad.

Obinna running all over the place on defense, not calling switches, chasing screens.

Then Dawson fouls on an inbound with 1 second left on the shot clock.....no need to even try to slap at the ball.

Martin gets it and three players collapse on him leaving Dawson wide open for the winning 3.  Martin is usually great about finding the open man?  I hate losing!!!

Martin panics and tries to play PG 18 feet from the basket. Dawson fouls on a 3 with 1 second on the clock. You could write a book on what not to do that they keep doing.

Like I said have you watched this team shoot FT's. The only positive I can say about this team is they play hard. With that being said they are so flawed when it comes to basketball it is sad. How many games are the little things going to byte us; FT's, Boxing out, being aware of the situation, and protecting the ball.

We draw up a play for our big man to dribble the ball to the basket when he is 23 feet away????

 Killen was 3 for 8 from the FT line. That is terrible. As a team, we were 12 of 21. This is junior league crap.

We got caught with poor defensive communication on a drive off a screen at the 1:00 mark. Two of our defensive guys were clearly clueless.  No one called a switch or I got ball. Slow motion replay clearly showed that.

We were lucky Martin didn't get called for a different foul late in the game because he made no play on the ball and clearly took his man down intentionally.

Southern Miss is horrible at basketball. We were fortunate to even be in the game. Of course we have yet to win a road game this season and it is December 21st.

We have absolutely no basketball IQ at critical times. First half, we clearly let them take it to us on the offensive glass. It shouldn't take until halftime for players to get chewed out for that. No fundamentals. Boxing out today was horrible. Missed free throws. Just terrible basketball all the way around.

Tired of getting fed mediocrity is okay. But I guess I am a BAD POSTER.

I?m much more of a football guy, but I watched this whole game and It looked like we are going to be a .500 conference team.

Lot more riding on this game, cosmically, than just another conference matchup.  Blown opportunity to show their "recruits" who has the better athletic program.  Not that I've made any comments on basketball team or coach, but I'm through caring about a program that the school doesn't give a crap about.  Wake me up when we have someone that knows wtf they're doing and players that can play and shoot at this level.

Look at the bright side. S Miss went 8-18 from the line and tried their best to give us the game at the end missing FTs but we didn't want it. This conference is so bad that it's really sad. S Miss is awful. JMU has totally collapsed App St is terrible. Arkansas St is the only team that even resembles a basketball program. And we may not be a great program but we are going to keep getting worse with the company we keep and an administration that is willing to let us just blend in with this gutted basketball conference. It's a real shame because this conference could be dominated with any vision at all.

No fast breaks, no hustle, no rebounding, can't hit free throws.  Coaches have to alter their scheme according the talent they have.  Running the high ball screen over and over again is not working for us.  Our only chance is to beat it into Martin and look for kick outs for Dawson.  We get that going then the high ball screen may start working.  For me its time to experiment with anyone else on the bench.  Erich Harding with his length should be getting more of a look.  If we just get our defensive rebounds we win comfortably tonight.   I thought Fricks & Obinna would end up being good ball players.  Both are extremely athletic but neither play under control.  The game has not slowed down for them at all.  They both have their go to moves.  If Obinna is underneath he is going to spin to his right for his shot.  All our coaches would have to do is have him do the spin to the right like he likes to do and add a pump fake to draw fouls, or a pump fake and step thew for an easy lay up.  If i can see that any scouting coach will see that.  On the defensive side of the ball we are reactive, waiting for the ball to come off the rim.  We box out sometimes.  Not sound basketball on either side of the ball.  Don't get me wrong i believe our kids and coaches are working hard, but i believe we just keep hammering a square peg into a round hole.  Change it up coaches!
