  • Legion Field: Huge stadium with a lot of history but UAB has NO fan support and sitting at that game made me feel like we were back in the MAC i.e. AKRON.

The HERD fought the entire game but they have to work on the 3rd qtr blues.

When the game ended the team come off the field in the stands of the HERD fans and thanked us for coming out to the game. I never shook so many hands, slapped so many shoulder pads and gave high fives after a road game- especially with the team! It was one of the most incredible moments as a fan! This was a class act coming from a classy program. All the starters and seniors led the way. It made the win more that much better. After the game we went to Dreamland had ribs and knocked down some cold ones! All in all I would recommend the trip next time the HERD ventures south- the food is incredible. As far as game time atmosphere again I hate to refer to MAC road games but this was very similar. Hopefully over the years UAB will grow their fan support.

As for us we have a plane to catch back to CBUS- hope to see some of you next weekend in Huntington for the start of a winning streak.

  • Big City, while listening to the post game show they had mentioned the team thanking the fans.  They never mentioned they went into the stands that I could remember.
That is so classy that the team and the coached did that. Bet it made you all proud to be able to do that and them proud to hear you all to congradulate them.

    Big C,

Glad you made the trip.  B-ham DOES have excellent food.  Next time, try Highlands Bar & Grill downtown at Five Points, voted 5th best restaurant in the country, but be prepared to pay some $.  There are several others such as Ocean, Hot And Hot Fish Club, (both in 5pts) and La Dolce Vita in nearby Hoover, which is a great Italian restaurant.
    There are MANY others.

Thanks for the advice. I will try it again in April when I am back down in the area to race in PowerMan Alabama.
