By Anthony HanshewThe Herald-DispatchBIRMINGHAM, Ala., -- It would have been easy enough to fall into a here-we-go-again mentality.Marshall University had led throughout, often owning a two-possession cushion Saturday night at UAB. Will Dunbar's interception of Jimmy Skinner set up the Blazers -- down 31-24 in the final five minutes -- at Marshall's 41-yard line, leading to not-so-fond memories.Fourth quarter leads had been squandered the previous two games, but a proactive Thundering Herd defense halted that streak. Consecutive Shavar Greer sacks returned Skinner to the field less than two minutes later for victory formation."I was telling the guys, 'I want this more than anything. This is our season right here. We can go uphill or downhill,'" Greer said. "We took a step in the right direction."Marshall (2-5, 1-2 Conference USA) can build on the impressive win during its upcoming two-game homestand. The Thundering Herd hosts Memphis (1-6, 0-3) at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. WOWK will televise the game.
