HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University and University of Evansville women's basketball teams are paired in the Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament on the Purple Aces' home court.

The Nov. 9 game at Roberts Arena in Evansville, Ind., is one of eight first-round matchups.

"I really appreciate all of the effort and hard work by our administration to help us land this first round game, and I think that it will be a great opportunity for our fans and our city to see great women's basketball action to kick off the season," said Evansville coach Tricia Cullop in a release.

Coach Royce Chadwick said Marshall is excited and honored to be playing in the most prestigious preseason tournament in the nation.

"We'll be ready to go on November 9 in Evansville," he said.

Evansville averaged 1,377 attendance for home games last season in the 11,600-seat facility.
