I don't know why chezdog is always so dead-set on this white out thing.  I'm wearin' green and only green.

Chez feels as though anything I can do to help I will do. White stands for support, and that is what we need is a combined effort to show the players that we are there rooting for them to win. Lets say we all wore green to the stadium....anyone that knows about MU understands that green is our color. Does that motivate or show overwhelming support for our players? It should, but not like a STATEMENT of wearing white.

That is what it all comes down to....making a STATEMENT. Not to ESPN, not to the country, but to our players. If anyone knows a better way than to wear white to make a statement, I am sure we are all open for suggestions.

Connie, you are going to sit there this year and thank every one of us for wanting a change in bball. Coach Jones is going to be a special coach that these players will thank the rest of their lives for having the opportunity to learn from. Talk to any of them right now and see what they say in comparison of Jirsa vs. Jones. Its already made a difference....these guys deserve the best.

I can hear the announcers now:  "There's been a grass-roots effort this week in Huntington to promote a 'white out,' but it appears the fifteen thousand or so in attendance didn't get the message."

It's like you're intentionally trying to make MU look stupid.

Thanks for your opinion......if you would kindly read the posts on all the message boards, face book and myspace pages, it clearly states a show of support for the players. It is making a STATEMENT, not for TV...but for the players. If you do not want to be a part of that, that is your decision. I for one will be there in white, with hopefully 25K of my closest herd friends.

When Cody Slate looks into the crowd and sees all the white shirts that we wore FOR HIM.....its worth the effort that I put into picking up the white vs. the green. Its one game, its one time, its our team. For once, lets just band together and win this game. The players are aware and excited about this....they think that we have all given up. I for one, have not.

I've already been to meet him in his office,  I took him his welcome basket from Herd Nation and talked to him in the community.  I've been to several practices.  I'm excited.

Dude, it's not that hard ... Not very complicated ... If you don't want to participate then don't.

It's a noble effort that I happen to agree with so I will be more than happy to be a part of it.

But, even if I didn't want to participate I wouldn't feel the need to make snide comments like so many others have done.

Why feel the need to even post on this subject at all if that is all you have to offer ... You don't have to post on every subject.

You see a subject about a way to try to show unity and support ... You read it and decide it's not for you ...  Then just move on to the next thread ... Something that you can post an opinion on ... This really wasn't an opinion based thread ... It was just to raise awareness  about an idea and then people can decide whether or not to participate ... Why do some feel the need to crap on everything.

The above quote sounds so much like a person that wants to complain about how bad a party is gonna suck ... But, that's only becaue they weren't invited to it in the first place.

Here is what you do. Put on your sweatshirt then go to Wal-mart buy a 3 pack of Hanes T-shirts a size larger then normal and put it over your sweatshirt. There you go now you have a white shirt on.

Not to be negative,I think a white out is a great idea, but it seems like too short of notice for people to come through with the idea.  Shouldnt we try and have a green out first?  I dont want to be negative but I believe the idea will be a disaster.  JMO

Contact the SGA president, the president of the Pan-Hellenic Council and IFC and ask them to ask their members to participate.

Also call and ask if small signs saying Wear White vs Southern Miss can be placed at the registers of the two bookstores, cafeterias and front desks of each dorm.

Might be worth a try to call up some local businesses(mom and pop stores) and ask if they could put up a small Wear White sign in thier store front.

People, people, people. By now you should know this will not work, why?
The MU AD hasn't said a word. For things like this to work, you need the AD, Marshall administration going with an all out media blitz, a FEW weeks before the game to get everyone fired up and on the same page.
Blogs won't reach the thousands of fans that the HD or WSAZ do.
I admire the passion and zest, I'll be there with the family, but until MU starts to promote and market these ideas, they are DOA!

Just kidding - I have three white MU shirts but in all honesty I think we should always wear green to the games.  I think we are too caught-up in that Penn State game a couple of years ago and try too hard to copy them.  To me we should always wear green.
