Ever get the feeling that you're just not having the same conversation with someone?

Say, for instance, maybe you're a sportswriter sharing what you feel is thrilling football recruiting information over lunch with a ladyfriend. You're breaking down season stats and other schools of interest; in return you keep getting zingers such as, "When are you getting a haircut?"

Not exactly on the same page.

There it was Tuesday afternoon during Mark Snyder's weekly press conference. Over a question-and-answer session lasting nearly half an hour, Marshall University's football coach was asked about Southern Miss' quarterback, tailback and No. 1 wide receiver.

Over and again, Snyder reminded the media gathering that USM does line up a tight end, and an elite one at that.

"Bottom line, (tailback) Damion Fletcher is the centerpiece of their offense, isn't he?" a reporter offered. Fletcher topped 1,000 rushing yards as a true freshman last season and has totaled 637 yards and six touchdowns in 2007.
