  • moved up to the 13th rated QB with his stock still climbing.  He's now ahead of Sam Keller of Nebraska, Paul Smith of Tulsa and Anthony Morelli of Penn State whose stock is steadily going down.

  • Wonder where the 13th ranked QB usually gets drafted?  4th or 5th round?  I don't know where Morris goes in the draft but I am proud of the way he is representing the Herd.

  • I wonder what Bernie could have achieved at Marshall if not for the recurring turf toe injury.

  • I think Bernie will be a "fit" quarterback...meaning that if a team has or projects an offense for which he is is an efffective fit, he is very apt to jump over a few quarterbacks that are rated higher if he is right for an offense...the old Atlanta or Tennessee offenses come to mind. I think he could go very late first day...or very late second day...but Ahmad has proven the lack of importance of where you are drafted, it's being drafted into the right situation.

  • There were 12 QB's drafted last year and 14 in 2005.
In recent years more and more running/atletic QB's have been drafted.  Just last year Shockley, Omar Jacobs, Reggie McNeal (position switch), and Tarvarious Jackson.

I think with a good showing tonight and a good combine, his stock continues to soar and he is drafted 5th-6th round.

  • I wish nothing but the best for him. I want every Marshall player to do well in the pros. It makes Marshall look better and better to recruits when you have players in the spotlight in the NFL currently. Ahmad is giving us pub and if Morris continues to do well he could do the same and add to the QB factory we were having for a while.

Can you imagine if Stan Hill had not gotten hurt and would have had a better work ethic? We would have had 4 QBs in the NFL. The good recruits coming out love to see players from the school going after them playing in the NFL. It makes it an easy sell when it comes to getting prepared for the NFL.

  • I suspect there is a decent chance we will have four former MU QBs at least in minicamp with Chad, Byron, Bernie and quite possibly Stan getting looks...folk, that ain't bad.
