  • notice if there were any recruits present? I didn't get there until late and I sat where I couldn't really notice any recruits. Another great atmosphere for recruits to be present at tonight. The crowd numbered a little over 5,000 and they were loud and very much into the game! Big win for MU over UAB and hopefully a very prosperous weekend for the Herd in recruiting! Any news on the O.C. or D.C.? Someone earlier mentioned a D.C. candidate might be in attendance!?

  • There were at least 6 recruits sitting behind the Marshall bench.  Saw Snyder and a number of other coaches in attendance sitting with the recruits.  We also had a lot of current players sitting with the recruits too.  One recruit in particular was Germany.  He is a beast.  Looks like a football player.  Shaking hands with a lot of fans.

Are you sure? According to the Arizona State board he is with them this weekend.

  • Germany is not here this weekend, coming next week.  You probably saw Wilkerson with the recruits.  Also, someone said that Jo Jo cox was there with some other players.  Someone asked about him last week, well he is still here and by all reports doing well.

  • I passed a guy as I was leaving who said something about California or getting back to California...could that have been Marcus Udell? If so then we need him here...NOW! Good size for a DB and this kid is "cut"...looks strong! If that was him he would be a great add for us!!!

  • I did see JO JO Cox.  The player I thought was Germany.  He looked like him at least.  Hard to tell from recruiting boards and in person.  They were giving this one player a lot of attention though.  He was a big dude from where I was sitting.  He looked bigger than 6'4".  Who ever he was he is a stud of a football player.  He could suit up now and play today!

  • BIG HERDFAN, Udell was the only visitor from Calif., so yes that was probably him.  We really need this kid, at 6'1" he has the height to battle the tall CUSA receivers.  I don't mind some 5'9"-5'10" CBs but we need a couple of bigger ones so we don't have mismatches on both sides. Good DB play and pressure on the QB will make a world of difference for the Defense.

Hopefully it wasn't a "I can't wait to get back to California" comment.

  • Can you imagine the shock to his system coming from 80 degrees in Calif. to Huntington with a wind chill  temp. of around 5 degrees.  I remember one of the recruits we signed from a Calif. Juco saying he never knew weather could hurt until he spent a winter in Huntington.

  • 5 degree temps is not the norm around here though. It only gets like that maybe a couple weeks out of the year.

That brings up an important point, when bringing in recruits how great would it have been to trot those recuits over in the cold to the stadium to the new IPF. Would make me very happy if I were a recruit  knowing that when the weather sucks I can get a good practice indoors. That has to be hurting some recruiting if you consider that we are the most northern school and have no indoor facility.

  • BIG HERDFAN, Bennett was suppose to be at the game last night.  Apparently he got an earlier flight than anticipated and left yesterday early evening.  He had been in Huntington since Wednesday evening, a very long interview if you ask me.  I would guess the offer has been made and it is up to him now.
