  • Agree, this has to put Barnard ahead of Beardain right now as a potential Herd QB.  Just getting here, and finding your way around is a leg up.
I think both guys have a chance at becoming a real good college QB.

  • Now we just need some WR to throw to.   Someone has got to step up soon.

Good call, we need to find WRs who can make plays. I hope Fitzgerald improves to be a go to guy. But, a general lack of size, speed, and experience for the WR corps is a big concern.  Who's gonna step up?  Who's gonna make the big play?  Questions abound about that pos in my mind.

  • Filer.

and please, let Bollio show up.

Moore and Lauzon could step up as well.

  • Don't forget Hargrove.  There have been whispers that he turned in the fastest unofficial 40 ever at Marshall. There are lots of ?s at WR, but also several potential answers.

  • There's never been a doubt about Wilbur's straight-ahead speed.  Ummmmm.... 'nuff said.

  • Size and speed combo is what we are missing and I am not getting excited about Filer just yet. I have gotten excited about these guys coming in before and they never turn out due to whatever reason so I am still being cautious about him.  Who would ever think we would have a question at WR having the talent we have had in the past.  I really feel that recruiting went down hill these last few years in the WR area.  Too bad Spann can't play.

  • Don't fault Beardain - remember he just had his MS-Al all-star game (alon with OL Leggett).  He coculd still get in plenty of work during the later summer sessions.  Not all the returning players will be here all summer, but 90% are expected here at least some of the time.

Unfortunately it does no good if he can outrun the secondary only to drop every pass thrown at him (i.e. Josh Davis 2004).  I like Hargrove but he's been here for 4 years and still can't even catch a cold.  I'd love nothing more for him to step up and prove me wrong this year.  But his inability to catch passes hasn't been from ample opportunity.

  • We have a bunch of guys who have not lived up to their hype (Hargrove, Moore, and Manns), a guy who has been great in practice, but hasn't shown much in games (Lauzon), a bunch of guys that may step up (Filer, Leath, and Lindsay), and a guy who may or may not suit up for us (Bolio).

Our WR corps is a major question mark. The only starter I see is Fitz. After him, who knows what will happen.

  • I was excited to see Paul O'Hara already here.  If he play's LB it could make us forget about Gamble or Houston...

Barnard being in town, enrolled and working-out with the team could make August even more hot!
