  • Oklahoma didnt belong in the National Championship game each of the last two years.  USC up 55-10 with 10 minutes to go in the game and all the OU fans appear to have left the stadium.  Hell, ABC was worried about Utah being competitive in a major bowl game I wonder what they think about OU.

  • It was also an embarrassment to the Heisman.

A Heisman-worthy player should be expected to be able to step it in the big games, and when adversity strikes.  Jason White is capable of doing neither (re: K-State and LSU last season, and last night's fiasco).

USC may very well be the best team in America but, as talented as they obviously are, they didn't dominate every game. USC was challenged by Stanford (won by 3), UCLA (won by 5), Cal (won by 6) and Oregon State (won by 8). Who knows what may have happened in a 16-team playoff.

In all the bowl games, the 2 teams that I considered to be most impressive were USC and Utah. Interestingly, Utah mirrored 1996 Marshall by winning every game by at least 2TDs.
