  • I just spoke w/ their sales mgr and she was ready to close the deal on renting me a billboard on 3rd ave until she asked what it was for. When I responded that I would like to show the city of Huntington my displeasure w/ our current coaching staff she said "oh no, Marshall is our biggest client. We could never allow that". My rebuttal was, business must be good in the tri-state if you're willing to turn down free money. Just like the rest of Huntington -- Lamar Advertising are puppets for the powers to be at Marshall.

Looks like the KKS mafia has Huntington on lock down. Does anyone else know of any other advertising co. in the area?

P.S. My billboard was not going to be degrading. It was only going to state facts that have been reported in the paper, like his W/L record.

  • Maybe you can donate that money that you are willing to throw away on a senseless billboard to a worthy cause.  Maybe breast cancer research, or something.

Getting rid of Snyder is a worthy cause. Also, I donate plenty to various charities including breast cancer which my wife participates in their Avon walk for cancer (39 miles) every year. Please get off your high horse, you don't know me. Why don't you ask Snyder tonight at the call-in show why he doesn't donate half of his half a million dollar salary to charity?

  • Just on the surface, believing your post to be factual, NE you have a classic example of a made for TV legal action that about any civil rights attorney will file on your befalf. I am neither stating I approve or disapprove of your idea, but that is not the issue. This is a violation of your individual civil rights, and is a blatant attempt to discriminate against you as well.

What I posted is 100% true. Call up and go through the same exercise and you will be told the same exact thing. If anyone can get a bill board up in Huntington I will fit the full bill of $560.00.

Fyi, she was trying to sell my the digital board right on the corner of 20th st. How funny would that have been.

  • You need to go into the office in person with a witness if possible and let them make their case as a follow up to your telephone converstation. If you cannot get someone who lives in the area to do it for you. Any monies you receive you can donate to MU.

  • Long time lurker, first time poster.  I'm all for the firing of Snyder and I wish that someone would put up a billboard.  However, there is not claim against Lamar.  They are a private company and can choose to do business with whomever they please.  You can't have the type of claim you all are getting worked up about against a private company.  Lamar is not the government.  They are a business.   Stop talking about a potential claim;  there is not one.

  • I never said I was going to file a claim. I just thought it was worthy of posting to show the masses that MU is run like N. Korea.

Why don't you ask him ... This has nothing to do with coaching ... But, it has been well documented that his wife is a breast cancer survivor and he and Beth do alot for this charity imparticular.

Also, I don't know anyone who donates "half" of everything they make to any charity.

Like him as a coach or not  some of this stuff is getting way outside the bourdries of the football field.

Fyi, she was trying to sell my the digital board right on the corner of 20th st. How funny would that have been.

I don't find that "funny" at all ...

Show me where I mentioned his wife or family. My rebuttal was to the gentleman telling me I should use the money for charity. Like I said in the earlier post, lighten up. This is no place for his family.

No one mentioned his family except you.

College football is big business except at Marshall.

Coach Snyder has a family, and that includes younger children.  His family does not need to be brought into the spotlight of his coaching career in a negative way.  Any rational person would understand that.  It's a game, nothing more or nothing less.  I understand that coaches and players get a lot of benefits from the game, but it is still a game.  Subjecting his family to mob rule and public embarrassment because he doesn't win enough football games is nonsensical.  The fact that anyone would even consider this shows how our society has its values totally out of whack.  Your past actions of charitable donations do not excuse questionable behavior in the future.   I'm not a fan of Coach Snyder.  His performance has been less than acceptable, but lets face it, sports should be kept in its proper perspective.  Donate the money so somebody can actually get some benefit out of it.

  • I have strongly advocated a total housecleaning -- Kopp, Marcum and Snyder.

But, if I owned Lamar, I would have told you exactly the same thing.  Business is business.
