Chez is right.  The money is there, but it has strings attached.  And the strings are attached to a guy that a lot of people would not want back here.  It does not look good for Marshall Football right now.  We are dying.  However, I wouldn't bet my life on Snyder returning.  I would bet a lot of money, but not my life.  Kopp just doesn't understand major college athletics.

welp...they lied to you then...because it was discussed....among the board of the BG....the regular meeting might have taken place...but the board of the BG met....and it was discussed....and it was the main topic...

All this discussion intrigues me, but no sense beating our heads against the wall here.
One side says he stays, one side says he goes.
Bottom line, we won't know anything until at least next week. Maybe not even that soon.

I would agree that Dr. Kopp is making a very nasty bed for himself.  He will indeed lay in it.  That was the point of my posts above;  he's not making any friends.  Moreover, he's making some very nasty enemies.

Betting your life on it is a stretch. I too have heard from good sources that Snyder will definitely be back for another year. They have already informed him. Firing him would seriously shock me after all the info. i have gotten the past few weeks.

As most know I own a couple businesses that work with MU....I am not one of he biggest donors that MU has because my revenue is not comparible to MR....but I regularly meet with some of these donors among others to discuss what is happening with MU. I know that money would not be an issue but whom would replace Snyder would be...

what amuses me is how after the word gets out that Sndyer will be let go, people come on and fabricate stories that Sndyer is FOR SURE, DEFINITELY, 100% staying.

I mean if they had this information then why didnt they just post it when they heard the word.

The "Snyder stays" posts are just fabricated in retaliation to counter the news and info.  Otherwise they wouldnt have posted what they know moments later on the same thread trailing the initial post....

RS and MR have enough funds to buy him out on their own, without help. Other donors want him gone, money is not the issue.

Possibly an unfortunate 45-17 drubbing by Tulsa may hasten Kopps decision to fire him.

I think there is truth to everything that everyone is saying.  Each of your sources has a different viewpoint on the matter.  I have a gut feeling that there is a definite and strong push out there to replace Snyder, but a few defenders that may be trying to block it.

I love Snyder.  All indications are that he is a great man and represents this University well in all other respects besides winning football games.  I wish him the very best.  However, the University is much more important than any single person.  Keeping Snyder will kill this football program and hurt the University.  People don't remember how you played the game.  They only remember whether you won or lost.

I believe the football program's losing has even caused the instate student enrollment drops.  I know our student population has decreased, but the increases in the college going rate should have more than made up for it.  I think we are losing students to WVU.

Field Pass.. personally i dont care enough to post it. Whether he stays or goes does not bother me as much as it bothers others. He will get another season. I will be cheering for him to do well. I will do the same for the next coach we decide to hire if Snyder doesnt work out after next season.

I do care that people are being mislead to believing he is fired when he is not going to be. This is why I have responded to this bogus post.

By the way.. This truly has become an exciting topic. I luv it.  ;D

Slightly OT but, does a college AD have to go to all the sporting events that he can like a high school AD does. Like do they have to attend Girls tennis matches and stuff like that? I just cant see how anyone with a football background (I.E Pruett, Donnan) would want to do that.

I have seen both Marcum and Pruett attend our girls volleyball matches at home and in Charleston.

As for Donnan... I and several others posted earlier this year that IF he returned we would donate specific items of value to his incentive package.  
If this post is true then I may be making good on that offer.

My knowledge of Marshall goes beyond student status.   I spent three years as a full-time faculty member at Marshall.   Also, I have taught courses at an even larger academic institution.   

FYI:  The BOG is NOT a secret society.  BOG's minutes are on the school's Web site.

If you are really that nosy (I am not!), then you can make a simple call to Dr. Kopp's office and ask when the BOG last convened.    I am sure his secretary can provide that info.

Ok fellows, this is all about MARSHALL REYNOLDS

If MU and  Mr Reynolds have mended things, and his money is accepted for replacing Snyder, then it will happen.

Marshall Reynolds has the money. Always has. But there are some serious hugs and kisses that need to take place for Reynolds and Marshall to get back together and divise a plan of action.

Not a prediction just stating the obvious.
We all know what happened with Reynolds and the comments he made about MU when the $hit hit the fan on the violations.

Has time really healed up some of the wounds?

We shall see.

This man is the ONLY WAY Marshall is able to make a move on firing Snyder and hiring a top notch replacement.
