What I dont get is when you look towards next year....without a QB and without Passmore...and if Slate leaves for the NFL.....or even if he doesnt....

We are going to suck next year....its a clear projection....

So why bring him back one more year when its almost for certain that we will end up with 5 losing seasons...barring a miracle....

I agree. This is what Woody and the rest of the Snyder supporters don't get. Our receiving offense was better than it had been in years since Watts and Davis, yet we could not score. What makes people think that if Passmore (our best WR since Watts) isn't there and if Slate leaves, which I think is a BIG possibility, that we can get guys to replace them? We won't. Those are 2 of the best offensive weapons the Herd has ever had and they will be gone.  I don't get why Woody and the rest of Snyders supporters think next year will be anything different. We lose some key players including our starting center. Look what happened to WVU when they lost their best WR and some other key offensive players. They got worse. It happens and that is what will happen with MU next year. Snyder will be lucky to win 5 games next year, but in the administrations eyes that will be an improvement.  ::)

This was an easy decision 40 games ago.  Marshall football is down.  UCF rushed for a high ypc before the turnovers started.  We don't stunt.  We have no technique.

many places with football tradition would make a coaching change after TWO seasons like weve had....

If we didnt have a real football tradition...Fulmer and Bowden and Donnan wouldnt want to come....geeze where were all these big names when we selected Snyder....this guy was a nobody....

The truth be told....Gibson (head of the BOG) and Ferrell are Snyder lovers on a personal basis...and they along with maybe Kopp are the likely suspects that want him to stay and drive MArshall into the dirt....

But there are no BIG donors on Kopps side...all the BIGGEST donors want Snyder gone...they are all results oriented.....

I think that has been shown to be very unlikely to happen.  Not big enough to be a TE in the NFL and way too slow for Wide out.   Several people have posted about this, it is not my position.

I could be wrong, I saw where agents and scouts had talked about him and his potential for the NFL and it was very iffy on their part if he could make a team and would be unlikely drafted this year.

Mike I agree with you on Slate.  People say hes going first 2 rounds I dont think he goes first day and he probably goes late second day unless he has a h*ell of a combine.  Hes not big enough to play TE in the nfl and hes not fast enough to play wr AND he doesnt have the best hands.

He could be one of those guys that really changes his stock at the combine.  It happens to some guys each year.  I love watching him play.

Slate IS a future WR, barring him adding about 30+ lbs.  That's what his size/ speed define him as.    He's a mismatch at TE in the college game, and not overly fast/quick at his natural position, which if history serves, and I believe it will, he'll have a shot at being a slot/3rd WR at the next level.  He should have been that here.  Think McCafferey for the Broncos.  Lots of 220 lbs. guys with good, not great speed have succeeded in the NFL, they're in essence a TE, not unlike Dallas Clark of the Indy Colts:  they can block a bit, and have good hands and can go over the middle.  Glad as hell he's here, just wish he'd have been utilized more towards imho his natural position.

You obviously know very little about me and my positions.  I am 100% behind the players and the school first.  It is sad that your opionion is based on some else's opinion which might be coming from a lower IQ than yourself.   I have been a huge fan of Marshall the school and the football and basketball all my life.  I would never put a coach ahead of my school. (anyone that knows anything at all about me that knows that)

I also have said over and over if the people that make the decisions pick another coach I will be 100% behind them.  I enjoy your posts and will continue to read and enjoy this site until I am no longer allowed and when people tell me to go away it tells me I must be needed.  Thanks.

I agree.  I have gotten 11 bad karma points in the last week and only because I have posted that I would like to see Snyder get one more year.  I have not attacked any fans on the other side of the issue and even have admitted I see their point of view.

I think a lot of the people on this board that are not and havent been for Snyder, would have had just as many bad karma points on the other board for that simple fact (not being in favor of Snyder).  In fact, they would have been threatened and at risk of being kicked off the board over there.

You have created your own karma sir.  This boards managment has been tolerant of everyones opinion....but to see you come over try to experience the benefits of that after unmercifully chasing down everyone on the other board that didnt agree with you is distasteful to most of the posters here...thats why youve experienced the cool reception that you have.
