I have no clue what the BOG is saying and have never claimed to know anything beyond the inside scoop that PhotoBy would occasionally swing my way privately.

My position, though, remains what it's always been this season... short of a meltdown, Snyder stays for 2009... and while what we've witnessed is less than encouraging, it doesn't qualify as meltdown material.

Having said that, did anyone else note the irony of field pass's signature?

That's what I was told last week.  I believe that is still the case.  Still, I'm not going to state anything as a fact until it's a ----gasp!----- done deal.

its unreal that people would go out on a limb to guarantee that he is staying while not really knowing either way...

its also shocking if they are simply getting bad info from someone....but this scenario sounds more believeable.

I definitely told the truth of what Ive heard...and the source is golden.  I also believe you a chez too...its pretty clear that you guys arent fabricating anything.

I guess Im just amazed that people would come on here and guarantee that Snyder is staying....  its simply cant be true...can it?  That is unless everything changed since I (and you and Chez) got our info and things went in the opposite direction.....

For what it's worth and if it's any consolation, fp, Jirsa was also fired a good 12-18 months before we got word of the decision...

Whether or not Snyder is going, I think he needs to.  How can he get any good recruits after four straight losing seasons?  Why didn't he change QB's before he had to?  Sometimes a change just needs to be made and he stubbornly wouldn't do it until he had to because of injury.

BOG's: Have met...no decision was made until late this week. As I have said before, I do not know the decision either way but one of the Big Donors JMJ, was told to get his money ready. Take it from there....
Money: It is there to buyout whatever we need...one gentleman would pay the buyout, new salary and all to get one Jim Donnan or Phillip Fulmer to coach here.

That is what I know...as specific as I can be. I am not on here trying to glorify myself, I just enjoy discussion with the backbone of MU, in which is all of us. Snyder might be fired, might resign, might be back...I have my opinion but that and $1 will buy you a can of Coke.

My head tells me that because KO is leaving and MS has a couple of close friends on the BOG...he stays.

If I had to honestly guess? He Stays...I hate to say it....I know the money is there and that wont be the issue..but everything I hear is for him to leave....that usually means that the boosters are fed up and the BOG doesnt care. That is what happened with Jirsa.

I expect him to stay...not to my approval. I hope I am wrong

Unfortunately I am in your camp.  I think he stays. We will once again at this time next year be pondering over the future of our Herd as MS tells the reporter in the post game interview after another season ending defeat that we are turning the ship around.  Man I can't take anymore Chez.  The guy has been a curse on the Herd Nation.

I expect a statement of "We believe in coach snyder and look forward to success in 2009" to come from Kopp. Its a shame that at MU you have to boycott and stop supporting certain sports for a decision to be made. That is the problem with hiring former players, and people with ties to the university. When it comes to firing them, it prolongs the decision in my opinion.

I hope I am wrong....a new coach is the shot in the arm that we need. But my head tells me that this will be another paper decision and the fans of MU will take another slap in the face. All we can do is move funds to other sports as we did Jirsa.

I think the those in charge believe that next years hook for season tickets is if you don't buy a ticket you won't be guarenteed a ticket to the WVU game. I just don't think that will be enough and season ticket sales will drop dramatically.  Then when WVU comes to town the next year with a new Marshall head coach the place will be full of WVU fans because they swooped in and bought the season tickets when they went on sale to the general public.

Last week on a local radio talk show it was said by the radio announcer that Snyder would be back.  

I agree with you - the money will have to be pulled out of football for the BOG to see that people are serious.  If he is back I am buyng two less tickets if any tickets at all.
