I don't blame any of the fans for the feelings they have, good or bad.
I do blame Snider for the destruction and dissension of Herd football and of the fan base.

If you think people will be as excited etc next year you are sadly mistaken. I know many fans that wont renew their season tix next year, they dont even know if they will go to games or not. That is APATHY there wont be much excitement around herd football next year.

I love you man, but this is not good. I've been around the Marshall sports thing and grew up around Huntington. MU football will suffer badly. The folks there will pull out. I am telling you. I saw them destroy the basketball program and they are going to do the same thing with football. It is over.

No offense fieldpass, but you're whole story was crap, none of it ever added up. as far as the "big boosters" that wanted him gone, bob shell and verna gibson are arguably our two biggest, we all know where the gibson's stand. i spoke with a former player that is working closely with/for shell right now after the game last night, he said shell was still in snyder's corner.

there was ONE major booster that wanted snyder gone, he never wanted to hire snyder in the first place. fortunately for us he doesn't have the power that he used to have, when he was heavily involved in us landing on serious NCAA probation, that person doesn't care about MU, well not as much as he does about his own ego. he gives a decent amount of $ to marshall, but he gives as much if not more to the school up north, he gives more to duke, unfortunately for him and his ego there aren't individuals that are willing to be his puppets at those schools. marshall used to be that way, but things are a changing.

and other "candidates" for the coaching job weren't contacted by marshall officials. marshall reynolds is good friends with donnan, he and jd have spoken at length, since pruett left about jim potentially coming back to mu. aside from that conversation no marshall univ official contacted anyone, no one officially representing marshall univ contacted anyone, a single renegade booster contacted a friend about the job and tried to pull a power play to get his friend a job.

Snyder is a joke and will fail again next year. It is inevitable guys that we will not win with Snyder. I don't get why this administration is so stubborn and so slow with decisions like these. Their egos are so large they won't admit when they are wrong. Just amazing how insane this place is.

herdman, I haven't offered an opinion on Snyder, positive or negative, on a free board since around the Southern Miss game. I am only relaying information -- that no one wanted to believe -- so y'all don't get your hopes up, only to be checked with reality.

Five days ago, in this thread, I told them that Snyder wasn't going anywhere, and the sooner they accepted that, the less miserable they'd be. But some people wanted to prove how well-connected they thought they were, and kept insisting he was gone.

This story was pure conjecture from the very beginning.

This is exactly what happens when you have non sports people running your university. Verna Gibson wouldnt know a football if it hit her in the face....Kopp follows the same suit...and KO is just a joke.

There were many more boosters other than MR that was wanting a change....and Verna Gibson is not the largest donor to MU. As a matter of fact...she is not one of the top 25 as far as athletics go. So her support for Snyder if any, was drummed up by shorting the university funds...not football directly. She voiced her approval for Snyder because of personal ties...any yes, we took her money and applied it toward several projects on campus.

I will tell you this...and I hope this post gets brought up next year. When we go at best 5-7 next year, look around the stadium. Look at the sub 10K fans....look at the lack of advertisement in the stadium...all you will see is Dare WV, in which is free. And then, remeber those whom wanted to give him another chance beacuse we almost beat a bad Tulsa team that is going to get blown out by a bottom feeder BCS squad.

I am once again disappointed but not surprised by the administration at Marshall. We are declining at an unstoppable pace and we have no one to blame but our administration. In todays economy, I dont honestly know why anyone would want to support MU at this juncture. Basketball is on its way up only until Donnie moves on...and that very well could be next season.

An all time low in my opinion and another slap in the face to the backbone of Marshall University. I love MU and realize that we have a great story to tell from the past but that does not guarantee ANY success in the future.

Its time to play big boy ball....and we are getting our butts kicked.
