  • Most Mexican beers are swill, but in order to get ready for the holiday, just seeing what people will be drinking for the 5th.

Bohemia, Modelo Especial and Pacifico will pass my gullet.

  • I don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but if I did, it would be either a hoppy Dogfish IPA 60 or 90; or a perfectly poured creamy Guinness draught from a local bar, the Dublin Pub.. I've tried several Mexi beers and never developed a tatse for them. Let us know what you end up trying and how it turned out.

  • speaking of Dogfish Head, have you tried their Burton Baton? It's a blend of the 90-minute and English strong ale. Very tasty.

  • Tecate, Sol, Carta Blanca, Pacífico, Cerveza Cucapá, Cervecería Minerva, and Cervecería Primus.
Personally, I like Tecate and Dos Equis. Corona is my least favorite.

  • Good choice Storm. A buddy of mine is dropping in from Columbus this week and here's hoping he brings in a 4-pack of the Kentucky Breafast Stout.

  • Ichor,

If you've not tried Hoppin' Frog "B.O.R.I.S" (Bodacious Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout) or "Silk Porter", make sure your buddy brings you some to sample this week.    Check out this link for other tasty Hoppin' Frog brews.

  • I have had the Frog. Made in Akron right? Very good. I can get that here in PGH.

Terrapin (athens, ga.) makes a good imperial oatmeal breakfast stout if you can find it.

Getting back to Mexican, when i was in school we could get Chihuahua, a truly disgusting but cheap product. I don't think they even make it anymore.

  • Landshark Lager. Bust on me all you want but I prefer it over Corona, Modelo, or XX.

  • Landshark is serviceable. The only problem is it's made in Jacksonville.

True, but it has that mexican feel to it. Good with lime.

  • Negro Modelo with one clean slice of fresh lime, $4.50
Dry aged Choice Filet cooked over blended wood fire $29
Enjoying melodic major key tonality with good people across cultures, priceless  ;D
