FP you're a %^&*ing idiot. Do you read posts or just make them up as you go? Its not enough that you make up stories to get a rise out of people but then you read posts from someone else and than put your own twist on it. How in the hell do you think by pullling money that is going to HELP the university? It'll take the next coach or AD years to get that support back so we'll be in the same position even if we didn't have Snyder.
And since I will continue to support the kids, program and university I am a loser and should not come to any more home games. REAL INTELLIGENT!!!
When your kid doesn't do their chores is it a good idea to not pay them their allowance? If you have an employee underperform is it a good idea not to pay them a bonus? Of course the answer to both these is yes. It's called negative reinforcement and it is intended to change behaviour. If you don't change the pay structure the child or the employee has no incentive to alter their behaviour because they get the same reward no matter what.
As fans we really have no say in the decision making process but we can give feedback to what we think of the process in the form of our attendance or our financial support. If we don't give any negative feedback when we don't like something then the administrative has no incentive to alter their behaviour.
Our athletic department and the Big Green do so much to alienate the fan base it is unreal. Maybe a fairer statement is they don't do anything to make you feel a part of the program. As has been mentioned here a lot of it is really easy stuff, an email or letter within a week of receiving a donation, an electronic message that details where we are with fundraising, what the goal for the year is, how the money is spent. Start a building fund with specific goals and the projects it will fund, update people on the progress. We are all stakeholders in Marshall athletics, we should all be informed.
