HUNTINGTON -- Lee Smith's impromptu move told Wednesday morning's story.

"It's go time," Marshall University's imposing tight end said to offensive line teammate Chad Schofield. Both players boasted broad smiles while high-fiving.

Marshall football players reported for preseason camp Wednesday and checked into Twin Towers East dormitory, officially kicking off the 2009 season. Media Day is today and practice begins Friday.

"It's time," Smith said. "We've been working hard and this is what we've been working for three months. We're ready to get after it."

Ever the gentleman, Smith politely asked his wife, Alisha, to put down his collections of clothes, toiletries, etc., while conducting an interview. At 6-foot-6 and 270-pounds, he's more than capable.
