  • Sources have told this reporter that richrod is currently in very hot water.  Stuck his pen in the company ink.  As a result, a cheerleader may be carrying tiny richrod jr.  The sources have indicated he may be fired following the receipt of the final LOI.  Anyone heard substantiation?

  • I can't throw any stones . I also impregnated a Cheerleader once. She was and is just too irresistable  . I was a coach and she was the cheerleader captain a long time ago. Of course when I did, she was 26 at the time and we've been married for 21 years now  :D
That is a rumor about Rod and a bunch of crap at that. There are lots of things to talk smack about with MU/WVU but this defamation of character crosses the line don't you think?

  • Although, they have treated a fellow West Virginian with total disrespect in their behavior toward Coach P.  Here, where I live if a news anchor  acted the way some as they are allowed to in WV, and  allowed to continue, they would be fired on the spot.  I mean here, every one gets equal time and respect.

If Coach R has made a mistake allow it to come out through natural process; let's not get involved in that hill country level of insecurity that has plagued WV for so long.  It won't help MU to gossip about Coach R, and the truth is we don't know what has taken place for sure.

In any case, I surely hope it is not the truth.  It would certainly hurt the image of West Virginia, Marshall University, and WVU, all three.

    GO THUNDERINGHERD!

  • this rumor has been going on a while.......and it's NOT an MU rumor about coach rod.  i don't care if it's true or not........really doesn't interest me.  other than to post some BS on the herd grapevines smack board just to watch those fools respond.

yaks is a herd fan and posted this OLD (few months) wvu rumor on the vine asking if it's true......wvu fans on a smack board seemed to at least SUBSTANTIATE that it's a rumor they've heard....verses one a herd fan or yaks put out for a rise.....

really, true or not, i don't care.  it's their problem.   it's fun to watch them squirm.  i will say this, even though (it true) it's legal....it shows poor judgement and pitiful ethics and morals for him to do this to a student....i'd say it's a little worse than a normal affair....when considering he's employed by the U to take care of young adults........not quite the way his job was intended....

in any case, true or not....it's their problem.

  • I don't care either.  But I must say "stuck his pen in the company ink" is really funny.  If he would get Rasheed Marshall or Chris Henry pregnant, now that would be news.......

  • You know, I've actually been impressed by RichRod, which I didn't expect.  He has done a pretty good job with that program but more importantly from my decidedly one-sided perspective, he has probably been the person who has most positively and objectively forwarded the idea of an MU/WVU series, though you could tell by the media followups that he probably got smacked down for it.  Everyone else is pretty close to the situation to look at it for what it is, and that certainly includes us. Can think of a lot of guys I'd less like up there....

Oh no.  This is rumor at its absolute best.  Anything that causes that bunch to squirm just a little bit more is fine with me.  Doesn't matter if it's true or not.  Plant those seeds of doubt.  If it causes pain and discomfort to Chickeneers, I'm all for it.

  • Guys -

I called back home and talked to a booster/Alum in my own family last night. My cousin in fact. He lives in Bluefield and gives about $ 5,000 a year to the program. Not a huge contributor, but he is Yeller and Blew all the way and has good sources. He is a mining engineer ( VP of Engineering Operations ) He told me Catlett was retiring three months before it was official and before it ever got out on the 'net. It's a trustworthy source. He usually won't confirm bad news unless it's really bad. And he confirmed this "rumor".

This thing is starting to move from the "rumor" stage to the "dirty little secret" stage.

Apparently, this "Rich Rod-knocks-up-18 year old-cheerleader" rumor has wheels and can roll along on it's own. It won't be needing our help to grow. Plenty of other people will feed and water this thing until it blossoms.

My source says it's true he's been living in a hotel room and his wife left him. I can tell you this because it brought great pain to him in confirming this to me. He also says that Rich Rod's wife filed divorce papers about two weeks ago. Take it for what it's worth....but for me, I will give it more than "a grain of salt's worth" of consideration.

Rich Rod may very well be leaving Morgantown, much like Little Bowden was run off from Auburn for the same thing.

    We'll see.

I wouldn't be a USPAM grad if it wasn't for the fact that there ain't no other law school in West Virginia.  You either go to Morganhole or you pay out of state tuition.  It's the lesser of two evils.  About 20 years ago, Marshall explored the possibility of getting a law school.  I'll give you one guess as to who spent taxpayer dollars lobbying hard against it.  The Chickeneers have done everything in their power to harm my beloved school and that is an unforgivable sin.  So, anything that causes them pain is something that causes me pleasure.

As for the rest of it, Rich Rod is a public figure and it is almost impossible to slander a public figure.

Hmmmmm ..... this should be easy enough to verify. All we need is for someone to get a copy of those papers from the Monongalia Circuit Clerk's Office in Mo-town.  They should be available to the public.

  • Its funny that Rita was with Coach Rod at the Puskar Center watching Gwaltney announce his signing. The happy couple has been seen all around Morgantown , recruits visted the family at thier home and NO source at WVU has him being fired or divorced.
If you guys want to talk smack about Rod and his team/school have fun but spreading this kind of trash is inexcusable.Go to the Grapevine and read the post by a guy who works for Blue&Gold News. He says the same thing , there is NOTHING to this garbadge.

I don't like stupid rumors like this and that is all it is until someone within the situation says otherwise.  It should not be on a message biard and I hope it goes away, but when anyone uses the phrase "happy couple" in a spot like this, I want to throw up.
