  • Just got back. I was pretty impressed with a few things. Whoever #83 is...he's good! He's got height, some build, speed, and caught just about everything thrown to him.

The scrimmage at the end was cool and there were some pretty nice catches.

Anyone else who was there, feel free to share thoughts.

    PS

Can anyone tell me when the first practice with full contact and pads will be?

  • How did qb's look? Anyone look specifically better than the others? Who was getting the most reps? How about just and AJ report?

  • Pretty sure thats Michael Rhynes, they have to have two practices without pads so first potential day is Saturday

  • #83 is Michael Rhynes. I noticed him too. He's a redshirt freshman that Snyder almost brought up off of redshirt guys. He then tweaked his knee and they decided not to bring him up.

  • Anderson got a good amount of reps. Taylor did too. AJ was decent today, I guess everyone has their off days. He completed some good passes and had a pretty good throw. Sometimes I wish he'd rifle the ball and not slow down.

AJ looks like he's by far the most agile of the bunch. He didn't really run with the ball too much because of the drills but when he had the ball and took off, you could tell he's pretty damn fast.
One of the fans told me we recruited a guy from VA for fullback who's built like Owen Schmitt and would get at least 3 yards a carry in HS. Anyone know about this guy?
Anyways, they had the white helmets (I know some of you are happy about that) and jerseys and shorts. Still they had some contact drills with the linemen. Overall a good day.

Actually even last year in practices they would wear white helmets....the green helmets were only for game day.

  •  Michael Rhynes also stood out to me... RB number 18 or 19 also looked good anyone know who that is?   I thought Anderson looked good.  AJ made one pass that had everyone in the stands clapping and cheering.   Once Korn gets here its going to be an interesting QB  battle and thats a good thing! :D.  I can't wait for the G&W game.. its going to be a blast 9/2 can't get here soon enough.

  • I remember that pass which had everyone applauding. That was AJ who threw it? Wow. There was a real nice 1 handed grab by...#4?? The entire team was in awe because it was just simply yanked out of the air with one hand and the guy ran downfield through defenders with it. Awesome stuff.

#19 is Booker (he changed from 38)

I sat behind Quan Fletcher in the stands and overheard him talking about his situation...

The drills were run smoothly and everything was pretty crisp even though footballs were dropped. The defense was pretty energized always yelling and getting into it. I saw one of the coaches make a player drop and give him 10 for some mistake.
Overall the coaches got the players pretty intense at times.

  • Must have been on the other board, but I read that doc wasn't worried about the crowd, but constantly making adjustments and focusing on players.  Also read there was lots of teaching going on.  Thinking I read Peterson was was trying to help correct and improve the throwing motion of qb's during drills.  Also heard everyone, players and coaches were very upbeat and excited, and that players were working their tails off which was said to be a lot different from ast years practices, where it seemed players were just going through the motions.

Again, I had to work so I wasn't there, but that's pretty much verbatim what I read on the other board.

  • He said that one of the strength coaches told Doc that Quan was talking trash to him and Doc kicked him off the team. He said he did not do it. He also said he was pissed because there are players skipping class and being late to workouts and they aren't kicked off but he was for something he claimed he didn't do. He told the guys he was talking to that his classes were going really good this semester. He kept looking to see if anyone was wearing his number. Said it was a good sign that nobody was. Said he was still on scholarship. He said he hopes to get back on the team and said, and I quote, "I'm the best linebacker on the team".

I also heard him telling those guys that during Memorial Day weekend, if you couldn't get laid in Miami, you have no chance of ever getting laid. LOL

I also heard a story about him and a "white bitch" that could suck the chrome off a 57 Chevy (not
in those words) bumping uglies on Tyler Warners living room couch when Tyler's girlfriend walked
in on them. LOL! I miss college!

Is that enough for you enquiring minds?

Nice...and that was Miami on Memorial Day weekend, right?

South Beach, to be specific. He gave good instructions on how to play it. He said if the chicks were Columbian, tell them that you were from Dade County and had $100 in your pocket and your in like Flint. He said if they were just weekend visitors, let them know it's sex only and you'll find out quick that that's the same thing they want. He said they will be real with you.

  • Sounds like he needs to man up and ask for a meeting with Doc and the D coaches.  If he really wants to play, he should do something about it.  Eating crow often works.  Forget who is right and wrong, and work on building trust for the future.  If you know him, tell him to get it squared away and he will be better off for it in the years to come.

  • This will only serve to get him in more trouble.  While I don't, some will take offense and it could not help his situation with coaches if they get wind.  Pretty low to post those things imo, especially since he wasn't telling you directly.  Mods should delete it.  Otherwise thanks for the info.  Glad to know he might get to come back.

  • I saw Quan at practice and thought it was a good sign that he's still engaged enough to come out and watch the team.  I wouldn't be suprised if he keeps his grades up and is back on the team in the fall.

For the record, he is a full grown man...the dude is big.  Hopefully Doc is just teaching him a lesson and he gets to suit up for the Herd.
