The search is underway at Marshall to find a replacement for recently departed Donnie Jones. Athletic Director Mike Hamrick is in charge of the search, and being very tight lipped about it. Here are some of the names that I've heard from various sources:

Mark Cline - Assistant Coach Oklahoma. He's a Williamson, W.Va. native. and a a two-time W.Va. State Player of the Year. May need to get out of Oklahoma before the posse comes and gets them next year.

Jeff Battle - Assistant Coach Wake Forest. Played at Marshall and started his coaching career there.

John Brannen - Assistant Coach Alabama. Another former Marshall basketball player.

Larry Harrison - Assistant Coach West Virginia. Former Head Coach at Hartford.

Also, two current head coaches whose names have been mentioned are Brad Greenburg (Radford) and Buzz Peterson (Appalachian State) .

He left out David Greene, the renegade coach from Cadwallader College and Ken Reeves from Carver High School in South Central Los Angeles.  Another coach he left off is the gritty Moreland Smith from Western University.
