  • Who are you glad is gone from Marshall University.

It doesn't mean you are slandering them. It doesn't mean any disrespect.

It just means that you personally are saying "THANK GOD THEY ARE GONE" from Marshall University.

I will list one first to start this off right.

KAYO MARCUM..................THANK GOD HE IS GONE

  • Saying greg white means you must be one dumb idiot right? I would love for us to hire him back because at least we would win games. He was a winner, one of the best coaches we ever had.  People I wish were done with our university is the idiot fans we have.

April fools day was last week.  Nobody is going to fall for that one today.  Greg White...good!  That's freakin' hilarious.

  • Foul. 15 yards. Piling on.

    Plus...

Dead-ball foul. Additional 15 yards. Unsportsmanlike conduct - excessive celebration.

("Doesn't mean any disrespect"... yeahright... in what alternative universe.)

I had to go look. It said, "Of or like an a$$."

If so, seems the term probably applies better to the people persisting in beating up the long-since departed... kinda like taking pride in how much you can beat up a corpse.

While I was at it, I looked up "petty."

It said, "Marked by meanness or lack of generosity, especially in trifling matters."

To talk with such contempt about public figures with whom you've had little relationship... e.g., politicians, movie and TV celebrities... is one thing. Even that goes over the top with regularity. But here's a thread that takes joy in remembering the people who, though they tried and largely if not monumentally failed, were in your court, in your corner, one of "us" for a period of time, and for some, will continue to be that until the grave. Where's the joy in that? Pardon the negativity on my part, but... why all the negativity long after the goodbye? Is it so much fun to continue to disrespect people? I'm prepared, again, for the treatment, but it should be said that we ought to be better than that.

  • No , that's not the definition I was looking at , it says : Marked by failure to exercise prudent judgement or common sense . But regardless , all are gone and Marshall is so much better for it . And most people I know are thrilled too.

There should be no limit on the time allowed to pile on with regard to Bob Marcum.  Never has one athletic director caused the same level of destruction to a program.  Mike Hamrick, who appears to be a solid AD at this point, has literally accompliched more in six months then Marcum did in seven years.  Marcum came in at the pinnicle of our football existence and did absolutely nothing to capitalize on it and left with nothing to show but a huge and growing deficit for his department.  He shrunk the Big Green through his arrogance and lack of inclusion (and effort), massively failed at scheduling, and was remiss in his duties concerning TV coverage of the program.  Worst of all he repeatedly lied to the fanbase and spoke poorly of the very department he was in charge of running.  His paycheck was essentially nothing more than institutional welfare.
