  • I know Doc would never say it but I think he wants to beat his old employer more than anyone on the schedule. (I do know for fact that I do!)

He was overlooked and never given a chance at a place where he gave everything he had for many years.

I think he'd love to show them how they screwed up by never giving him an opportunity after a lifetime of hard work.

I agree with you totally.  this is why I see BUGS as a trap game.  I am afraid so much energy will have been expended on this game, that when we go on the road to that hell hole, we won't play our game.  win or lose vs WVU.

  • Somehow I think this year we will be ready for every game. If you knew Leon McCoy like I knew McCoy and how he and Holliday think alike, look for a hard hitting very well conditioned team that knows what's expected from it.

  • I was standing at a urinal at princeton at an MU event and Doc walks up to the one beside me and starts talking about how happy he is to be at marshall.   You gotta love a guy who'll talk to you when you are taking a whiz.

  • Did he really say that??!!

    Have fun skippy!
Yes, Snyder did say that.  Live, on ESPN, at mid-field when he was talking to weenie-rod pregame.  They had them miked up.  I was so damn embarassed I couldn't speak.

  • Sure is a refreshing change of attitude from our last man on the sidelines who was heard on ESPN saying to RRod that he was about to throw up before the last game in Htgn.

I don't understand how you can compare some PC 6-8 months before a game, and with the 15 minutes before a game.  I've seen lots of players puke before a game, & I know many coaches get that feeling, as well.  Just says you have alot of excitement for the game.  I guess it would be better if he talked about mandingo warriors, maybe that would have been more macho.

  • Perhaps, but you don't go straight to your competitor and tell them that you are so nervous you could puke.

Apples and Oranges and irrelevant.  But you have to admit what Snyder said wasn't very mucho [sic].

You're correct, it would have been much more "mucho".  Snyder sounded like a coach of a junior high squad getting ready to play and NFL team. It was quite pathetic.

  • What would Snyder have said?

    Quote
"Uhhh, well, WVU has a great coach.  Im good friends with him.  He's been in the buisiness a long time, knows how to field a team.  Theyve got great players, not only at WVU, but in their conference.  Thevye got some great playmakers that have caught my eye at linebacker, defensive back, and running back.....Im sure their going to show up ready to play....and my job is to make sure we are ready to play.  There big...and fast and BCS tough.  Its a big time program.  Its going to be a tough game...no doubt.  Its not a conference game for us, and our first goal is to win the conference.  I just hope we can go up there and make it respectable and get some experience and confidence and momentum and bring it back home and get ready for our first conference match up.  Just wanna get some guys some experience and exposure and practice so we can get ready for our real season...and by that I mean conference play."

  • Whenever we just got humiliated by, say a VaTech or Wisconsin, one of the 1st things to come out of his mouth was "That's a GOOD football team we played out there today..."  Another gem.

let he who is with out the first typing error (era?) cast the first stone!!  Macho is spanish for 'tuff (tough?) guy' Mucho is mexican for tough (tuff?) guy.
I just get sick and tired of people jumping on one of our own.  One who gave blood sweat and tears (maybe too many) to the Herd (Heard).  It is well past time to move on.

  • Bernie and Snyder sucked....   ;D  Ok, case settled.....move on.

Im going to look back and cry or laugh about once a year about the Snyder/morris era...err debacle....which ever you wish to call it.  Actually, the pain is already mostly gone.  I just laugh in amazment now.  But it was a significant enough continuous 5 year blunder....that it will forever remain a blot/blemish on the Herd history and record.  So, from a historical stand point...we should never forget or else history might repeat itself.  What we went through should serve as a warning to other schools.....forevermore.  Yourproblemnow served us a warning unto which we gave no creedance.  May we never forget.  Rest in peace Snyder...as our coach at least.

  • Understood.  The point I think is that a coach's demeanor and confidence trickles down to his players.  I felt like Snyder's demeanor was VERY counter-productive, and it's just refreshing to see a guy like Doc come in and take this approach.  I feel he will instill discipline and a winning mentality, 2 things that were non-existent under Mark Snyder.  JMO.
