  • I believe that the Herd fans that are going to go to the 'hole have already bought their tickets...if the QU'eers are buying tickets from Herdzone, we are getting our $$$ that's fine.

  • it sure would be nice to see a full green and white section.  I will be there.

I guess some would rather watch the game at home while they lay on the couch in the fetal position

  • I want to go, however, I'd rather not have my family harassed and possibly assaulted nor my car vandalized so I'll watch on TV.

I will be in a recliner, not the couch.  Been there 3 times and that is plenty for me.  I'll be at Louisville and Ohio U, but I'm not going to that 'hole for anything...if you think that makes me less of a Herd fan, downgrade me.

We get $2/ticket.  Woop dee doo.

Which is what we get for all road games regardless of WHO buys the ticket.  Again, I'll stick to games in civilized locations.

BTW, if this game is nothing more than a meaningless tune up game against a low level opponent, why are they buying up the tickets?  I doubt they buy up Coastal Carolina's ticket allotment.

Is there a possibility of a game watching party upstairs at MacReedo's for those of us lowly, piss poor Herd fans who stay home?  ;D

  • We have let them win the game before it starts.  I have been treated poorly in Morgantown so this trip I am going with some friends and not taking the wife and children.  The Herd needs to come out of the tunnel and see a lot of green like it was in 97.

I hope you plan on wearing your Herd gear and walking through the Blue Lot. In fact, you should proudly sport your wardrobe and do a lap or two around the stadium, then get back to us.

Please be sure to document your treatment with a video. I would try the cellphone or hidden camera route so that you get a true, unbiased representation of their behavior. WVU fans say that the fan harassment videos are like Bigfoot videos....they don't exist or they are doctored fantasy from sore losers.

I will never, ever, never set foot in that sh!thole again as long as I live. Made the mistake of going there before and will not be returning again.

The gameday stadium beer sales will become their undoing. I can't imagine how The Ears will act if they are able to top-off their drunkeness throughout the game; drinking freely from The Never Ending Keg.

One thing is for certain: This ain't gonna end well for WVU and my bet is that they will be facing a couple three lawsuits before the season is over.

If we win this one I would fear for the safety of my family and friends. Seriously.

i don't think anyone is calling anyone bad fans.

Several in this thread have admitted they are intimidated by eer fans.  simple as that.

I've been treated poorly there before, and treated well the last two trips.  I am glad I didn't let that one experience scare me off.  I'm looking forward to the game and supporting our team.  Glad the team isn't chickening out.

I'm still on the fence about going, but I will say this:  If I'm going to drop upwards of $500 to go see a football game, I really would prefer not to be assaulted and verbally abused while I'm doing so.  I enjoy cheering on my Herd, but enough is enough.

Spin the accusations however you want, I've been there 3 times and have no good memories of how I was treated, don't need it anymore, that's all.  I can handle myself, I just think that there is a modicum of decency that should be expected.  I've been to 100's of college sporting events that were "away" games and have never seen a fan base act that way...with that said, why subject myself to something that's not the norm.  Enjoy your "brave" self, us half assed, chickenshit fans will enjoy it just as much or more from right here.

That's exactly what I was trying to say.  I've been to some of college sport's highest profile rivalry games and over 100 away games involving the Herd in both basketball and football and have never experienced anything like that.  That coupled with the fact that I've seen physical as well as verbal assaults and the fact that my wife and kids enjoy games too, says it's not for me.  Think about it...if you are a guy going by yourself to a game where you find it necessary to tell your wife and kids, "it may not be safe for you" or "I don't want you to see the way those idiots act" --- what the hell do you want to be a part of that for?

Like I said, I hope all who go enjoy themselves, but to belittle those who don't want to be a part of an uncivilized atmosphere is as barbaric as the actions of their fans.

He said he thought he was going to have to clean out a whole section of dumba$$e$ in 97(I think his family was sitting with him). I plan to look him up this season and see whats up!

  • I hold nothing against those that are choosing not to go. I feel that I am no bigger fan than those that choose to stay home. I always said that I would never go, because the last time my 70+ year old grandmother went, she had beer thrown on her and was called a few choice names. She's going back this year. I think that I want to witness everything for myself. I honestly hope that my perception of their fanbase is changed.

  • I will go back if I have the chance. I have to say my last trip up there wasn't that bad. I even walked through the blue lot going to the game and caught some razzing but that was about it. Their fans can be idiots but I didn't have any issues last time. I have never been scared to go there. Most of them don't even pay attention to you. It's the young drunk students who you have to watch out for.
