    HUNTINGTON -- They weren't just supposed to be down in 2010, they were, according to one college football publication, "painfully short on talent on both sides of the ball." The analysts and scribes had them going somewhere in the three-to-five win range.

    But Charlie Strong wasn't buying it. He knew what he had in his first year as the University of Louisville coach and he was going to give it the old college try to get the most out of the Cardinals' talent (or lack thereof).

    Mission accomplished.

    Strong took a program approaching the deep end closer to shore last season, going 7-6 and taking the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl, U of L's first since 2007.

    It truly was a ray of hope for the Cardinals, who hit dark times during the Steve Kragthope era, winning just 15 games in three seasons under its former coach, and never finishing higher than fifth in the Big East.

    But Strong is a winner. His coaching pedigree is highlighted by an eight-year stint at the University of Florida when the Gators won 80 games and two national championships. An assistant for that entire run, Strong landed his first head coaching job in December 2009 with Louisville and made a serious impression with a surprisingly successful first season.

    1-800-THE-HERD. I would think that we have an adequate supply at the MU ticket office.

    Depends on a few things;

    If UK beats Louisville
    How good UK is
    If UK has a home game that week
